Ive had mine glass fenders since july 2012. They are good. They have seen better days now. Lots of spider webs on mine. Could use a new layer of glass on them to keep they from shattering. They are fiberwerx and i have been happy with them.

 

Is that so @m3bassman can't use it?

 

Well on tapatalk it's page 227 lol anyways I was thinking of linex on the inside of the fenders to prevent the spider effect... Mine are also fiberwerx... But I've been trying to get advice on how people have created inner fender wells but not much luck lol... I still plan on doing linex on the inside of my fenders even if I can figure out a way to create a custom inner fender well

 

Well if you don't end up cutting them up like i did. You can make liners very easy. Id suggest some 1/4'' rubber mud flaps or similar. Then just attach them to the body of the truck in a way that the outer edge lays on the lip of the fiberwerx fenders. That way when the wheels come up they just get pushed out of the way by the tire as they are only really attached to the body but come down and rest on the lip.

You could also just buy a sheet or two of abs 1/16'' or maybe slightly thicker and use a hair dry or heat gun to shape some.

I was just reading that in your build thread.


It seems like I recall a 1st genner cautioning about going to solid mounts. Not because of the added vibes. That's to be expected. Naw, it had something to do with how high (or not) the engine sat afterward. Something about the radiator fan hitting the lower portion of the shroud.

Does any of this sound familiar Monte?

 

Yea theres bound to be some tweaking to get it all just right. He thought the motor would sit about 1/16-1/8" higher based on other 2nd gens he's put em on.

 

I know my bomb proof TG mounts raised mine up. A lot.

But I haven't had fan shroud issues. I can see it being an issue.

Id like to get some of those mounts eventually. Before I fuck up my current ones. That and gusset the perches.
