I bought an extra set of colour matched Black Sand Pearl housings to do this. Does anyone have experience wiring in a dual filament socket? Mines an 01 and I'd rather just have one bulb and enlarge the factory hole for a dual filament socket. My only problem is finding a decent sized socket, one the same size as the factory signal socket.

My factory signal got crushed by a snow drift, I tossed them before realizing I should just relocate the socket, or else I would do it this way too.

I'd use some sort of heavy duty epoxy personally.

In regards to the original corner light, did you just plug that back into it's hole? So there would be 2 lights (corner & parking) in that corner light assembly...?

I'm no good with wiring but I am fancy with a drill bit and dremel :D so I'm excited to get this done on my 99'

Yep. Two bulbs in the housing. Your just adding the blinker bulb. The marker stays there. Just plug it back in when your done.

    A WORD TO THE WISE:

If you have a 98-00 and are doing this, I'd seriously consider getting LED bulbs for the turn signals. The incandescent bulbs give off a much higher temperature than LEDs would (twice as much).

I say this because I left my hazards on for about 5-10 minutes to see the difference between this mod and the OEM way Toyota set em up. When I turned the hazards off I noticed a very very small spot on the corner light housing that was starting to get burned through due to the heat from the constantly flashing turn signals.

It does not matter if you are just using the turn signals for switching lanes, stop lights, etc. but in the off chance that you are a space cadet that day or are testing your Tacos limits and run out of gas or break down and have to keep your flashers on for 30+ minutes then you better believe that you may have to end up replacing those OEM housings as well.

    My 2¢.
    Other than that, GREAT MOD!!!!!!!

    Interesting! Thanks for the info.

Did you mount the bulb the way I did?? Just curious. It makes sense tho if you did it my way for the 98-00. The bulb does get close.

    LEDs are brighter anyways :p
