Got the shocks charged and the inner fenders trimmed. Having a loading dock helps with figuring out where to trim :)

Just got back from the Gofastdirtcamp. Needless to say, the new suspension is a hoot.

We actually have the vinyl cut for that. Just need to clean it again so we can install it.

I like that you have a 2.7L to keep with the theme of GoFast/Light. Good looking product.

like the little "unicorn" antenna mount! GMRS, Ham, or a cell phone booster?

I’m pretty sure BFG was offering some promotional considerations to the go fast dirt camp trip.

That's correct. I had 255/75 R17 Yokohama Geolandar M/Ts on before. They were a good tire and with that size I was able to get the full amount of stock travel without having to chop the cab mount.

That said, my favorite tire has always been the BFG All-Terrain. I'm used to the way it drives (and slides) and I've always had good luck with them in terms of longevity. When I switched to the LT suspension it necessitated a larger tire than the 255/75. BFG now makes a 34" x 10.50 R17 All Terrain (KO2...never been sure what that stands for). I think it's a perfect size as it allows the +2 kit full travel without having to run fiberglass fenders. Just a bit of trimming of the fender liner (and the cab mount chop). We got deals on both sets of tires but I'm personally a huge fan of the BFGs and will be sticking with them. Never hurts to try something different from time to time though.

As for the size, I like to run the smallest tire I can get away with for the conditions. Since the truck's not a rock crawler, it doesn't need anything huge. Just puts more stress on the bearings, steering, and ball joints.

How does the truck feel with those 4.56 gears on the highway with the 34's?

It's a mag-mount antenna for my Yaesu handheld. But I'm about to put in a Kenwood TK-790H (LMRS). Thing's a beast. I have a few of the ham frequencies programmed into it though. Supposedly it will work. Mostly use the radio in Baja.

They feel good. Gas mileage went up a little for me, so I'm getting around 15 mpg where before I was getting about 14. Feels pretty close to stock but with 34s. If I were doing more technical trails I'd probably go with 4:88s. But I almost never use 4lo when out wheeling, so take that into consideration.

Good to hear. I have a little bit of a heavier setup and a second gen...but need to figure out my setup quick as I'm having a tough time with 3.73's and 34's. Mind me asking what brand you went with?

Spent a few hours mounting the radio yesterday. Started pulling plastic to route wires and decided to just keep it out and make a whole new center console instead. My least favorite thing about modern vehicles is the over-contoured plastic interiors. I prefer simpler lines and metal parts. This is a work in progress but not bad for a couple of hours. Still need to make boots for the brake and shifter and machine a cupholder :)
