    Happy Thanksgiving Taco World,

I bought my Taco Limited a little over a year ago having traded in my beloved 2012 Tundra. I’ve regretted buying used and not getting exactly what I wanted new. I like the truck, but never really settled into it fully. Everytime I get into my wife’s 2020 4Runner I think “man if my truck had the little extra interior space this offers, it would be perfect”.

Anyway, I’ve been eyeballing 4Runners and found a military green limited that has been sitting on my dealers lot for a month, probably because the color clashes a little with the limited trim, I could make it work though. After negotiations we were still $2k apart. They went from $30k to $36k on my truck after I wouldn’t even respond to the first offer. Their truck has a 49k MSRP with a $2k market adjustment. I wanted the 38k I paid for my truck last year and the $2k mark up dropped. They came the came up $500 for mine and dropped 500 on theirs. I walked and they let me. They emailed later and I repeated that we are $2k away, let me know if you change your mind.
In the few days since I have found a whole new appreciation for my well equipped truck which I carry a very small note on and can conceivably last me the next decade plus if need be. I’ve started driving it in Sequential mode with the ECT on and it’s become a more fun truck to drive. My apologies if this bored you but I’m finding I’m happy in my truck again after checking out the grass on the other side. That’s all

Happy Thanksgiving. No payments make up for a lot when pricing new trucks. I was offered $43,000 for my 2018, but to replace it would cost almost $50,000. Plus I have $4000 tied up into sliders, a front bumper and skid plates. Be happy with what you have.

This is just an observation being new to the taco world and ownership. It sort of amazes me the amount of turn around /flipping I see here, whether it be a good trade-in or I wanted the newest model, etc.

My mindset I suppose is we found the Tacoma we wanted with the options we wanted and that's it. I would be hard pressed to even dabble the thought of trading or selling, because we bought what we were looking for. Just rambling...... Happy Thanksgiving folks :)

(sidenote if it means anything, its completely paid off, as well as our other vehicles)

I’m my case I spent 8 years in the Tundra before this truck and loved everyday of it, I also bought exactly what I wanted. I spent 10 years in the Cherokee before that and again bought exactly what I wanted. With this Taco I didn’t get exactly what I wanted and I think that’s been nagging at me. Overall I’m very happy with it and it’s not like me to flip my vehicle this soon, I think if I ordered mine instead of settling on a used one I wouldn’t feel restless about it.

I've always been of that thought. Buy what I can reasonably afford with the options that I want so I can love it for a long time. I put my deposit down for my 2016 on black friday on 2015. I would love some of the newer options, it's been paid off for the last 3 years and can't see myself with payments again. If my '98 is any indication, the main problem I'm going to have with this thing is that it isn't going to die in any reasonable period of time and won't be able to justify trading up to a 5th or 6th gen.

When I went to sell my 2nd gen I began to have reservations about moving on. Removed a ton of mods I had done and the truck felt refreshingly “new” again. Still ended up selling it and am much better suited for my current vehicle but I do miss that truck and driving it off the lot brand new.

According to my wife I trade vehicles much too often. I enjoy driving newer vehicles, and before I remarried I could do it when I pleased. I know from a fiscal responsibility standpoint she's right, but it's always been my thing. When we went to the dealership to service her Prius she started yacking to the service writer (the only one in the place I trust and who I always go to) and told her of my penchant for trading in vehicles. The service writer gave me a lecture on how financially bad that was and agreed with the Mrs. Now every time I go into the dealer to pick up a parts order I hear "What are you doing here?! Stay away from sales or I'm calling your wife!" from across the dealership floor. The parts counter is about 20 feet from her podium. Bottom line is I'm going to have my current truck for a long, long time.

Where and how can I find/perform the KD Max tune? I’ve heard about a few different tuners for the Tacoma and really haven’t paid attention to it. I’m open to it now.

I don’t drink , or smoke. No addiction to gambling either. I work hard and hustle to take care of my family.

But I do like spending money on cars and modding them. I know it’s not financially responsible but when I kick the bucket, as far as I know I can’t take my savings and cash with me …..unless I missed a loophole in the bible lol

Happy Thanksgiving everyone hope you all have a massive warm meal with family today!

I came close to trading mine for a Tundra. Put mine all back to stock, and was at the dealer. They were dishonest about the trade-in value of mine, and the price on the Tundra was $3500 more than advertised on the website (dealer add-ons), so I walked. Made the decision on the way home to keep the Taco.
