All 4 of us got Covid about 5 days before we left. We were negative less than 24 hours before getting on the plane to come down. 5 days later still feel like hell but the fun must go on!!!!IMG_4951.jpg

GX got a set of airbags today. Took about 2 hours to do.IMG_7039.jpg The Bilstein springs are to soft for towing a trailer but ride great the rest of the time.

Last year I was got an A frame pop up trailer for cheap so my boys and I could try out trailer camping. We used it a couple of times over the summer. It was to small for the three of us so I sold it after cleaning it up and fixing some stuff, I sold it in like 3 hours on Marketplace. IMG_7041.jpg
In a couple weeks we are renting a 20’ trailer and driving down the west coast. Starting off in Long Beach, Washington for 2 nights. Then we drive down to Coos Bay, Oregon for 2 nights. Last stop on the way south is just outside Redwoods national park for 3 nights. The return home will only be 1 overnight at a HipCamp site about halfway home.

IMG_7174.jpg Half way through trip. Gx tows 4000 pounds without blinking. Averaging 11mpg which blows me away since I get about 13.5 in normal driving. IMG_7184.jpgFirst site in Long Beach, WA was awesome. Backed up to dunes with a two minute walk to beach. IMG_7173.jpgIMG_7174.jpg The rental trailer is a bit of a disaster. My experience with Cruise America so far has been terrible. Had to take it to RV Service center to get new 7pin harness installed since the one attached to trailer would unplug itself every time I turned right into a parking lot or virtually anytime I turned. :annoyed:
Cruise America said they would reimburse me for the repair to trailer wiring but I have my doubts. Dude on the phone was a complete fuck wit. IMG_7180.jpg IMG_7188.jpgGoonies never say die!!!!!

The second place we went was in Coos Bay, Oregon. Great facilities but the beach was mmh. Made it to our third destination of the trip. In the redwoods this time. So far so good. IMG_7192.jpg We will be here for three nights. It’s close to Cresent City, CA

A little funky but totally good. Best beach area so far.

Apparently I took zero pics while we were there.

Not seeing every other campsite is worth not being right at the beach.

Sooooo, Rambling Redwoods camp was not so great. I’ve definitely stayed at worse campgrounds, but not by much.

took the kids to Trees of Mystery. 10 out of 10. The hike from the top where gondola drops you off is a bit intense. IMG_7271.jpg IMG_7269.jpg IMG_7229.jpg

The final stop is half way home at a lavender/Christmas tree farm about an hour south of Portland Oregon. IMG_7283.jpg IMG_7282.jpgThe smell of lavender is ever present but not overwhelming.

How do you like those crates I see in photo 2? I have eyeballed them for a camping setup.

Made it home! Just over 1300 miles round trip. Average mpg is 10.7. Not too bad I would say for what we were doing. The furthest point was the city of Eureka,CA which was so good! Tons of cools little shops and I swear the nicest people I have ever come across. Zeno’s curious goods was my favorite though. I love 80’s horror movies and they had so much cool stuff. IMG_7205.jpg
I got a metal sign for the garage.
    IMG_7292.jpg
The GX was so good towing the crappy trailer. It has rekindled my love for it. I was going to replace it soon but I’ve decided to keep it and spend some money on it.

Cleaning the GX today. So much sand and fine dirt in everything. Bad day to run out of cleaning products. Off to auto zone to see what I can get to finish the interior. IMG_7299.jpgEverything back in the crate I keep in the back. Also I picked up a compressor from Harbor freight and so far so good!:fingerscrossed:
