    But you are looking at some really well made stuff I have some of their stuff in my truck and like it a lot. The dude who owns it is a really good dude. Plus american made with american made materials! I gotta support the small cottage companies like this more so than the big conglomerates.

    I know, the price is super good. I was hesitant on buying them because I'm new to the buying wheel game and all the offsets messed me up. I have the popular discount tire wheel on my rig, I hate them. But I dig the stance. The tires (285/70r17s) stick out about an inch!

    what are the specs of the rims that you have? or a link to the rims? if u like the stance of ur current rims then get the same offset/width. if u want to poke out an inch past the fenders, that means u would want roughly a 3.5'' BS (back spacing). so on a 9'' wide rim you would need -37.5'' Offset and on a 8'' wide rim you would need a -25 offset. I have OEM rims that have a 5.5'' BS and I'm have 1.25 wheel spacers which puts my BS at 4.25'' and I have just a little poke, at most 1/4'' if that. so I'm basing my numbers off of that.

    Your offset is wrong math for the bs it should be a -25.4mm offset which would put you at a 3.5" BS remember 25.4mm per inch and offset begins at the middle of the rim which would be a 4.5" BS on a 9" wheel so if you wanted to get to 3.5" BS you would only need a 25.4mm offset. With your math you wouldn't quite make it on an 8" wheel with that offset but would with an 8.5" wheel you would need -37.7mm offset for the 8" wheel.

    9'' wide rim is measured from inside lip to inside lip so the rim from outside edge to outside edge is actually 10 inches putting the center of the actual rim at 5''.

    Back spacing and offset are a measurement of the wheel.
    0mm of offset for example means that the hub mounting location is dead center on the wheel.
    To help better understand this while making it more confusing at the same time:
    An 8" wide wheel with 0mm of offset will have 4.5" of back spacing.
    A 9" wide wheel with 0mm off offset will have 5.0" of back spacing.

    "What that doesn't add up, if it mounts in the middle it should be half of 8 inches? That's 4 inches of backspacing. Who is this idiot!"

    Wheel widths are measured on the inside lip where the tire beads, so an 8" wide wheel is actually 9" wide outside to outside. The backspacing measurement is measured from the outside edge of the wheel and half of 9" is 4.5"
    This also means a 9" wide wheel is 10" wide overall hence a 0mm offset will yield 5.0" of backspacing. You lower the offset down to -12mm to move the hub mounting location half an inch closer to the back of the wheel and voila you have 4.5" of backspacing on a 9" wide wheel (which is 10" outside to outside).

    The backspacing is not always a half in. different on either side it is closer to a .25" if that in some cases it varies drastically from wheel to wheel and manufacturer to manufacturer. I was in the wheel and tire business for several yrs and have that down pact I have seen that thread and see the errors in their calculations.

    If you go based on what I said you will be much closer. If you look at some wheel manufacturers they will sometimes give both specs and it can be anywhere from 6mm to 25mm difference from BS to offset based on their specs

    I understand the math behind it, like I said, I was basing it off his info. since the BS is measured from the mounting surface to the actual back of the rim, the true center line is half of the outside edge to outside edge measurement. I agree with him in his logic but I also agree with you that the lip to take into consideration isn't always going to be 1/2'' on either side. while I was looking at rims and stuff I was doing the math before checking to see what the company lists as a BS just to get better at calculating it and for practice. while using his math i always ended up with what the company lists as a BS.
