    First, nice build OP!! :thumbsup:

    @ovrlndkull The kit I purchased had no gussets etc. It just included the plates. Everything you see pictured below is what it came with:

    Just how Toyota leafs are anything but useful and good quality, I plan on replacing the cross bracing/members with DOM tubing. Order for the DOM should be placed soon-ish. Then, I can start to get everything installed.

    I seem to remember you placed an order with one guy but it wasn't delivered was this DMZ or another company? Would like to know before I place my order. I like how the DMZ goes all the way to the front spring mount. Only downside is to get the DS you'll have to drop the tank.

    Ok so lets steer this ship back to the Build. Damnit after talking to Mike yesterday and thinking through my build and the upcoming 63 swap. I am going down another rabbit hole.
    Dilema: How much droop can I actually get out of the 63s with a 6-7" shackle (this would mean rear shackle mount in different position than for the 5") Would a 16" shock get me anymore travel and at what point would my spring become the limiting factor??? @EatSleepTacos any ideas or people you know could help with this.

    I say this because I am going to put a 1" BL on the truck to clock the t-case and do some other stuff to get some more ground clearance and get some custom skids made (eventually)

    Trying to plan ahead here as it wouldn't be hard to throw the 1" pucks under the bed while we are doing the 63 swap anyways and going ahead and raising my shock relocations up an inch.

    Damnit too many possibilites and wanting to blaze a different trail and try something no one else has really done or written up so that I can kinda get an idea from them.

    IMO I would stick with the path your on. 63s and 14” shock is plenty of droop as it is. At a certain point your front end will really be the limiting factor. I know you mentioned the RCLT but that’s third gens so who knows when they’ll make a 2nd gen version. LCAs are different between gens.

    So if no one else has done it or written it up, how are you going to get an idea from them?

    You need to do it then write it up, you could become famous on social media.

    My only question is why clock the stock transfer case. I would do the fj swap first. Since you gonna be upgrading essentially everything anyways. Make it a true rebuild project

    You can't forget new bedside as well. Since he got a new frame we can call it a full on restoration

    From what he was saying about the RCLT is it'll fit from 05+ I could be wrong. Hell 2nd gen guys are much more prone to dump the cash into something like that and wheel it hard than a pretty new 3rd gen.

    This is very true, already the front is in all of our rigs as that is why the tripod affect happens either carrying a front wheel or lifting a rear wheel.

    FJ case is on the list. And clocking it gets the front DS section up tighter to the body and not dangling under the frame rails. If you can go and look under a Frontier 4wd they are completely flat bellies. I would like to try and do something like that. Our T-case and cross bars just have to be changed the Trans is already good.
    Hey my new engine is getting better fuel mileage than the old one and it seems a little peppier. Blessing in disguise possibly :D
    Frame off baby!!! :fistbump::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Oh and to answer your first question it's more to get an idea of if the flex is actually possible to be able to run a longer shock otherwise it's pointless. If the flex is there why not try and capitalize on it.

    There was a local fabricator who is a few hours away that someone here recommended. No actual money exchanged without seeing product of course. He claimed to have had measured everything out and just needed to cut it on the CNC machine.

    Tried many, many times to get ahold of him before and after the holidays. Never heard back from him so I went with someone else. I get it. Personal shit gets in the way etc, but to burn bridges locally isn't cool (to me).

    For me, the DMZ "weakness" is that it forces to keep the stock members; I'm not looking to do that.

    :sawzall: Cut and cage the bed

    Ok cool that's what I was looking for. I don't get it either with burning bridges. I don't think it forces you since you can cut them out later and just add some plate where the gaps are then add your own cross bars then.
    No!!! I am not going that far.

    :boink::boink::boink:

    True. But if you're plating the frame and looking to beef up the flex etc anyways, might as well do it once and do it right. $250 for a kit when you end up only using the plates or $125 (after moose dollar conversion) for the plates shipped?

    :notsure:
