Alrighty guys and girls.... let's talk BJs...

No you sick fucks, balljoints. Let's talk balljoints. My front end is creaking like a mofo. Sounds like drivers side mostly. I bounce the truck on DS and it creaks. Is it my BJ? I'm going to grab a syringe and inject some grease inside for the time being. Are there good options out there for replacements? Should I replace just the BJ? I was told by someone that if my BJs are bad, then to get aftermarket LCAs. That's quite the expense.

You can replace the BJs easily so long as you have a powerful impact. We rented a kit like this from auto zone.

    https://m.autozone.com/loan-a-tools...-joint-u-joint-press-set/449947_0_0?location=

And heated the LCA with a torch. A little dewalt action and here we go.

For install, we left the new bj in the freezer for an hour or two. Then right before install we heated the LCA with a torch. The new bj went in with no fuss.

I'm talking the BJ itself. I dont know where the squeak comes from. I dont thinknmy LCA bushings are seized. The bolts still turn freely.

    Aftermarket LCA options?

Yeah but bad lower bj =\= bad bushings.

And following croms method, bushing removal looks easy. And just have a shop press in new bushings.

Personally I’d rather have rebuilt oem LCAs than inexpensive aftermarket ones.

I have stock ones now but I’ve rebuilt them completely as well.

For me, it’s just more cost effective to buy a new set than rebuild them.

Total pain in the ass job. Really only did it because I wanted to try it.
