It was the total chaos mid travel kit. I was planning on going to the American Motorsport LT kit but sold it before that happened.

Hey everyone, this has been really helpful. I’m looking to lift my 06 access cab 2WD 5 lug, and I had no idea that a 5 lug needs a different type of lift than a 6 lug. I’m looking to go 3” and get a larger wheel/tire combo... i would appreciate any advice :D

Would depend on your shop, but some mechanic shops wont install lift kits or parts you bought so you gotta call around and ask

The local places to me in FL charge $100 a side. Honestly it's very easy to do if you want to learn and save money

hi, i just got a 07 2WD Reg cab 4 Cyl, and i plan to lift it. Plan to do the readylift kit, but do i need to switch out the front and rear shocks? I heard the rear shock is a little too short. My stock shocks are fairly new due to the recent recall when Toyota replaced the whole frame. If I want to change the shocks, i want 5 lug Bilstein 4600 for the front, and 6 lug bilstein 5100 or fox? I am a little confused for these shocks fitment with the lift kit.

    can anyone clear my confusion?
    Thanks

You are spot on. After the lift the rear shocks will be short. Most people just change both out because you will need to rotate the top hat anyways. Even if the shocks are new aftermarket shocks will be better especially in the rear since the diameter will be bigger allowing a larger piston and more oil capacity so longer time to fade

Crazy question: anyone selling a total chaos LT kit for the second gen or know where I can find one?

Thanks for your reply. Any feedback on readylift vs fat bob? some people suggest the fat bob is because they are cheaper and includes rear shocks. I am not a huge fan of that, since i do believe in quality stuff. I already plan to upgrade the fronts to 4600, and rear 6 lug 5100s. So fat bob shocks are useless for me.

But curious to see people that have them, and how they like them.

    Thanks

Honestly I'd just piece a kit together yourself. eBay 3" spacers, 2" aal and you'll probably want some new ubolts. It comes out way cheaper and allows you to grab some shocks you prefer.

Read this entire thread for starters. Most things get less overwhelming the more you learn which parts are irrelevant to you.

I did. but I didn't see where spacers and aal kit can be separated and which one is recommended.
