    LoL, WOW. That's crazy!

Yeah Timmy, I'm still on stock gears right now. So driving around town it's not bad at all, but going up I70 gets a little old. To keep speed, I'm usually floored in 4th, dipping into 3rd on occasion. That freeway starts a 6000 ft and goes up to a little higher than 11,000 ft though.

I'd say, if it were my money to spend all over again, I'd do the same thing. Get the crawl box first, then worry about changing gears.

As for tires, I installed the crawl box on 32s, before the 33s. I don't think it would make too much of a difference though. What tires are you running now?

yea but you went from 32x11.5 to 33x12.5. Thats a big weight jump. and contact area jump.

i always thought the perfect combo for a 5 speed would be

4.56s supercharger and 33s with crawlbox

    or

4.88s supercharger and 35s with crawlbox.

That's where I'm at now. Do I want to go 4.88s, 35s and a supercharger or 4.56s and a supercharger. I should just buy a supercharger and a '97 ecu already...

yea the ecu swap is a part you'd have to do for sure..well..i have seen about 4 96s SC and had no problems or so they claimed..i wouldn't take the chance personally.

Have you seen and wheeled with a truck on 35s? a 1st gen that is? its so cool.

But while it does look bad ass. Tubing is a PITA and not for everyone. On top of that....really do you need them? how much "harder" wheeling are you gonna do that you need the extra clearance?

Thats what you should ask yourself.

    If yes...4.88s it is!

if no and sticking with 33s. 4.56.

im thinkin 2jz is my fix for powa..

Yeah, right now I'm thinking that I'll probably just stick with 33s... but I've said things like that before.

So... are you swapping in an MK IV motor?

Man, has that 2jz swap been done before? That sounds like some serious work! (says the buy who is still considering a double cab swap...:))

^I'd imagine that space from front to back would be pretty tight since that's an I-6 engine, right? Man... that's gonna be a sight to see when you're done! I'd drive my double cab up to see that for sure :)

Which reminds me... do you have any idea how I could get my hands on a double cab and bed for CHEAP? I've been looking around and people want crazy prices for wrecked DCs out there...

Yeah, that's a picnic shelter at a trailhead near my house. I always thought the structure was cool... and there are some nice big rocks for me to suspension test on!

dude people want big prices for bodys in general for these things..my first find when i was looking he wanted 4.5k!

so...good luck! haha not gonna be easy. watch craigslist too. Thats where i found mine for 500..but it was a 5 lugger body..and your looking for a more rare body since it was only produced for 4 years and just not that many out there or that have been wrecked. gonna be hard to find one.

and deal. We can meet up with out two super swapped out trucks :p haha :D

but yea. Tight fit due to I6 but still fits no modifaction to the firewall and such.

hard part for me is the inter cooler..since i have a plate bumper and what not..

will be one hell of a project. but...BOOOOSSST :D and POWWAAAAA!!!!

^Deal on super swapped truck meet 2014(or 2015).

In the mean time, let me know if you run across a double cab I can snag... this is becoming an obsession.

    For my future reference:

It shouldn't be much harder than your cab swap, right? I would just have to change where the cab in bed mount to the frame.

should be easier since your no swaping interiror.

Yea you have to change those mounts.

the hardest part is gonna be dealing with the manual conversion. And i guess if you have no real way of lifting the bodies up

Hey Monte, or anyone else who knows,

If I swap interiors, I'll have to use electric windows, so I'd have to use the newer truck ecu, right? My rig was never equipped with ABS, any actuators for 4wd, hi/low tcase or any other electrical thing other than the heat/ac and headlights.

Would the new ECU get upset being plugged into a truck without that stuff?
