Question for you. If you had one or two days in the Hanksville area, what trails or trail would you run? I'm trying to find a good way to burn a day or two between Escalante and Moab. Thanks again for all of your awesome trip reports!

    Ooo tricky...

I think poison creek was really cool. If the dirty devil river is low enough and you can make it all the way through into the maze. Then you get to the 4 way intersection you can go south out to Hite. Be a nice loop.

Any other direction and you'll need 2 days minimum. Or just quite in and out. Plus can't camp in the maze without a permit. You can if you are on the blm land around it though

You did poison spring canyon too right? It takes you to a crossing of the dirty devil and then turns in to Hatch Canyon? I think maybe this is what you were talking about. Sorry, those posts of yours are so damn long (yet awesome) it takes forever to go back through and find the information I'm looking for. Poison Creek OHV trail is located northwest of Escalante which is kind of in the wrong direction of where I want to go.

we started right at Loma off the interstate.

Trail is fairly well marked. But there are spots it is not well marked at all. Cisco area particularly has a lot of side roads you could get turned around in.

I have a nice gpx track. Only thing worth noting to not follow as you are aware is to take onion creek road unless you want to do TOTW and Cottonwood canyon. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother doing that part as you'd have to go down Rose garden. Wouldn't be wise in your rig. I can send it later today when i get home, don't have it here at work.

I don't know what site we stayed in, Mike did the reservation.

Im not entirely sure what you mean by the home..the trails there are marked but not overly great. One is and one isn't.

the first part we took was not well marked. But there is a well marked trail further down which is the way we came out.
