I know the rear diff breather was mentioned, so that is already on the to-do list, but I see more and more threads about sliders as I read the forums. Since I have to wait for a dash kit to come out for the truck, I have a little bit of cash to burn between now and then.

For people familiar with the trails up in Citrus Park, would you recommend sliders for the "basic, don't try to climb the wall" stuff? I want to stay with the group, I can go around some of the more challenging stuff for now, but I don't want to put dents in this thing for at least 6 months. I figure, they will most likely end up on the truck anyway, I'm just trying to avoid the mindset of "well now that is f*ked up, you have a reason to buy that new bumper/sliders/skid".

if you stick to florida, you can get by without them, but even here they're never a bad idea to have. i've only seen a need for them in fl once, but i've only wheeled here a handful of times. and as far as cost goes, they're cheaper than the other components that go into protecting your truck, so why not put them on the list.

Thanks Colin, just need to decide weld on vs bolt on...going to be a long night of reading. As for Florida, the plan is head up to North Carolina sometime within the next 3-5 years, I don't know what things are like around there, but I miss the mountains, so any trails that go with that I hope to explore at some point.

for NC, get sliders. whole different kind of wheeling in the mountains.

if you have means of welding them on, i'd go for it. stronger and cheaper. but bolt on will hold up well if a welder is hard to come by.

The one time I went to citrus before I got my sliders I hit a spot where I needed them. Plus, once the truck is lifted they just make it look better and add a jack point.
