everyone is different, but from my experience after i plateau and change things up, I have gains in other areas. ex. maybe when i'm stuck on a weight w/barbell bench i may gain a bit on my dumbell bench. or b/c i switched up chest and did chest and tris together, then when i go back to just tri's i've gained some on skull crushers.. after repeating this over time, one's strength in different areas should go up. also some people say your chest will only get as strong as your back allows it. meaning if you strengthen your back you will gain some in your chest.., because your muscles work together this overall strength gain will help with a lot of exercises...
i will also try to focus on one area at a time (maybe 3 weeks, more than 3 and i feel like i'm risking injury) and really try to improve on that area by picking up different exercises or supersetting, or just going nuts on that area when i work it out by burning out or doing extra sets or whatever....

like aaron said, there is no definite science to it. this is just what seemed to work for me.

good luck! let us know how it goes

Dude, that's a shit ton of calories in one day! You should be able to gain, even with a fast metabolism, taking in about 3,500 cal a day! If they are good calories that is... Your maintenance calories per day should be like 2,800 is all. How tall are you?

Damn...no more lifting or working out for probably the next 1-2 months. Found out yesterday that I have to have surgery soon to repair bilateral inguinal hernias. Found out while running a physical ability test for a local fd. Had over 4 minutes left to complete the test, and was on the last event. I was in the top 5 guys out of my group of 50. Anyways, pain slammed me out of nowhere started throwing up on the course, and was holding back tears. Felt like my balls were going one way and my body the other. Had to withdraw from the test. Go to the hospital, find out I need to have surgery soon, and can't work or work out till I'm healed. Sucks. Anyways just needed to let that out. Everyone else keep lifting for me!!

Definitely lifting for ya man! Dude that sucks balls..pun intended:D I knew a guy here at the unit before Alaska made him looney that lifted too heavy and twisted his nut sack...sounds weird huh. But yea for real...his left nut was twisted around and in the spot where his right one was supposed to be! I guess it was very very painful! Good luck with surgery and heal quickly!

So mondays work out totally sucked today! I felt like crap and was tired. I didnt feel like doing much and didnt feel like I got enough in today at all. Maybe tmrw will be better. It dosent help that this is my first time lifting in a good while so im real tight and sore. I feel like a lil p***y I couldnt lifr half of what is used to lift and I forgot my shoes and towel so I had to work out in my GA boots but one girl did say "thats really hot that you work out in those"

But all in all today sucked guys!
