Only reason I stay away from it is b/c macros. My ON has 1g fat per scoop, compared to Muscle Milk's 12-16g. (I just realized that their powder has much lower than that, but our gym carries the little juice box ones, which are much higher). Anyway, if I can stick to my ON and it's lower fat content, that means I can get that much more fat from an actual food source like cheese or, dare I say it, BACON. Also, I think casein protein powder is a waste. Man up and eat some dairy (unless you're lactose intolerant, of course)

I don't like taking it before I workout because it becomes too much with taking it after. I digy oatmeal w/brown sugar and bring a cliff bar if I start to bonk...not that I'm lifting that long anyways.

The monster milk rtd has 9 grams in the bottle with 2.5 servings which ends up at 3.5 grams per serving...2 of those grams are unsaturated fats, poly and mono.

Have you ever looked at the fat content of a glass of whole milk? I wonder why the GOMAD diet is popular for ectomorphs...

I'm not saying don't drink muscle milk but until you do further research in to the stuff you actually already eat, don't talk down about stuff. I know the fat Carb and protein content of pizza huts pizza and Wendy's double burger is enough for me and my needs. Cuz I've researched it. Yes i actually look at nutritional value lol.

My clean eating post brought out the exact response that I wanted. No one can put a finger on what clean eating means. No one really wants to discuss it either...so they make some statement along the lines of it depends on who you are. Does it? Does clean eating really depend on who you are?

Back in the day, there was no clean eating. It was natural food. Garden grown veggies, hand ground flour self churned butter. Pork Bacon sausage beef eggs cheese dairy homemade bread etc. I mentioned in this list things that people don't eat today because they aren't "clean" foods.

That's all Pansy shit. Eat what is naturally available vs what is erroneously clean.

I like my carbs, I need carbs and I need fat to gain mass. I'm down 5 lbs after cutting out a huge Carb intake With only metabolic conditioning cardio and I look small.

I read the nutritional value on every single thing I eat. Hell, I even ate a 'fun sized' pack of Skittles today and looked up the nutritional value. I looked into GOing MAD when I first started getting into lifting, but I just saw too many people getting fat from it, so I just "dirty bulked" like a muh-fukka. Only thing I was saying was, compared to the post-workout shake I drink daily, the Muscle Milk was significantly higher in fat. I don't eat a cleaner diet so my shit won't stink or because it's doing anything better for me, but because I get to eat more. My metabolism is super fast, so I'm always hungry. If I can only eat 2300 calories per day to lose a pound a week and I eat Wendy's, I might be able to eat one more full meal before I hit my daily limit lol. I'd much rather eat "clean" shit and be able to eat much more of it, rather than eating one or two calorie-dense foods. I'm with you on the 'back-in-the-day' stuff, though. Especially here in the South, practically everything we eat is fried. I am, in no way, against "dirty" eating, I would just much rather eat less-calorie dense foods, so I'm able to eat more throughout the day. Hell, I dirty bulked for almost 2 years from 2010-2012. I loved it and I put on a lot of mass, but my bf% was getting too high.

What I'm saying is you can't eat clean...but you can eat naturally healthy foods.

Clean is a fallacy and I'll stand by that as I read flex magazine and discuss topics of being informed to eat starchy potatoes sugary carbs and oreos after my workout.

I agree 100%. My fiance and I plant a garden every spring. Just plowed it today! The stuff we grow in the garden tastes so much better than grocery store stuff because we buy the seeds and grow them without all the crap. Same with the deer, fish, and turkey in the freezer. I'm not anti-hormone or any of that crap, but the stuff we grow and kill is better tasting and better for you than store-bought stuff. When I say clean, referring to my diet, I'm talking about something grilled vs. something fried or vegetables vs. a Snickers bar. I guess my definition of clean is lower-calorie options of carbs, fats, and protein. Nah mean?

No I don't know what you mean because whether you have Bacon eggs and waffles and a Snickers bar or a protein shake with carb powder, each carb is going to contain 4 calories, each gram of protein is going to contain 4 calories and each gram of fat is going to contain 9 calories. So tell me again how you can get a lower calorie option of carbs fat and protein?

Okay. For instance, today I skipped my salad, which is 100 calories, and pretty much all carbs, so about 25 g carbs. That salad fills an entire large bowl. Instead, I went with 25 g of carbs from skittles, which is about 20 Skittles. Which one do you think was more filling?

Yes and no. Carbs and protein are both 4 calories per gram and fat is 9 calories per gram; that's science. The IIFYM comes in where you compare those macros numerically, not by actual food source. That is, if you can only eat 250g carbs per day, you could simply eat a couple bags of Skittles or you can do what I do and eat bread, salad, pasta, potatoes, etc. They both achieve the same goal of fulfilling your carb needs, but the latter option allows you to eat much more food. It's not a clean vs. processed argument, it's just that overly processed foods tend to be more calorie dense, which, if you're on a diet with a caloric limit, you don't get to eat as much food. I'd rather eat "clean" (used VERY loosely and only for comparative purposes here) so I can eat more

EDIT: that being said, I don't eat clean by any means. My diet includes potatoes, pasta, and whole wheat bread, as well as baked lays, a Coke, and a chocolate fiber bar. Sometimes, I sub out my salad for a Michelob or my pasta for a hamburger. As long as I don't go over my caloric limit and macro's, I eat what I want...although I tend to eat "clean", simply so I can eat more

I think this "Clean eating" vs not clean eating debate has been going on for like a week straight now. This thread should be mereged with the Foodies thread:bananadead::broccoli::bored:
