    Lowest I've ever gotten to was 6:43 and I was sick. I really hate running even though I play two really running intensive sports.

    I use to hate it untill I discovered trail running. I cant afford a trail rig so I either mtn bike or just run...haha

    I've ran just at a 6min mile before, and two miles in 12:30ish range. Too long for my taste. I like to keep my sprints in the 400m and under range. Doing those mile sprints makes me want to die. Not a, "That was a good workout" die, but more of a, "My whole body hurts, and death seems like an easy escape." die.

    my last timed two mile was 12:12....when I was cardio focused. hoping to get it back down to that before the races

    Yea, I felt like puking last night. and my left calf is really damn sore today.

    Ive always heard "to run faster, you need to run faster". So in order to lower my 5k and 10k times Im trying to get my mile time down and hoping it will carry over.

    That's the truth. I used to run with a guy, and those were his exact words. To run faster you need to run fast. When I started running I was dying to pull off a ten minute mile. I worked out but all I did was the typical body build thing. I needed to get my PT score to a 300 though for a course, so I started running with him. We did 400 and 800m repeats mostly. After about six to eight months I got down to my sub seven minute pace. The guy knew his running. He goes by Lion Caldwell, Google him, world record holder in the ultra marathons back in his day. Those ultra guys are a different breed.
