Beg to differ. You go do 5 rounds of 50 squats, 50 lunges and 300 meter run and tell me you didn't burn calories and your muscles didn't work.

We're talking body weight squats and lunges and for time. My time is 15:56.

Or try 10 sets of 15 135lb dead lifts and 15 push ups for time. My time is 11:42.

always been a gym rat but now i started the advocare 24 day challenge to try and shed some belly fat/love handles. anyone else had experience with it? im 3 days in and lost 5 pounds already and its really starting to show in my face/neck and little bit in my gut. i usually work out 2 times a day and then take off every third day.

Yes pure body weight training is great. But once you get good at it your body gets used to it.

Your body only adapts to what it has to do. If you only use body weight your body only keeps the muscle required to do it. If you use more weight your body gets stronger.

SAID Principle- Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands.

People please don't allow yourselves to be brainwashed by the crossfire peeps.

Anybody can do explosive, functional training in any training facility and eat healthy without a paleo diet and shelling out big bucks to work out in a garage.

I dont have any issue with actual crossfit training. It just gets old when crossfit people constantly try to cram it down other peoples throats and say its the best.

I could never bodybuild. My frame is just too big I'll never get a small enough waste.

I work out because I enjoy it and hate being fat!

Man I hate that shit. Every time I run into a crossfit fanatic they always have to have the final say in fitness. I'm not saying I'm a certified strength and conditioning specialist or anything, but crossfit is not for everyone.

Other than a power shat in the morning I like to do chair squats, iron mike's, kick backs, and fire hydrants. I don't do any leg workouts involving weight anymore to save my back/hips for long ruck marches. Like many others no matter how much I do legs they won't get bigger or more defined so I accept that and concentrate on absurd flexibility.

I usually will work legs for a few months and then take a few off, my legs blow up quick and then the pants don't fit.

But I always do calf work.

Just started hitting legs again and have been overly sore the last 3 weeks, may be getting old enough to where I just have to work them light all the time instead of taking a break. I dont recover as well..
