So i sneaked into a really really nice gym yesterday, man they had the reverse hyperextension machine from westside barbell, man oh man i think that is the best machine for your back that you can ever do, after i did a couple sets my back felt like it wasn't even injured, wish i had access to it all the time.

So i have this "gym" inside my apartment, more like hotel gym status, has 2 treadmill 2 elliptical 1 stationary bike for cardio, a set of dumbells that goes up to 25lbs, a bench, a hammer strength cable machine that's like 5 in 1, has machine chest press, lat pull, leg extension and ham curl with a cable curl attachment.
anyways i althought thought that place is a joke, but got bored today, today was suppose to be my rest day, and i went in there did 30 mins of circuit training, goes like this.
    dumbell curl-delt fly-lat pull-machine bench-chest fly-leg extension-ham curl

all of the weight are light, and im pretty much maxing on all the machine, but after about 15 mins i got the most insane pump of my life, im talking about pump so ridiculous i can barly touch both my hands together.

i might have to visit that place more often.

The gym at my complex was pretty much the same. Their bench was a joke and VERY unstable. Their machines kept on breaking but that had a pull up/dip station that was pretty decent. I had a weight vest at the time that helped.

    lol knew that was coming
yeah but i really think it's what you make of it, that gym is a joke for powerlifters but for bodybuilding, i really think you can build a pretty decent physique with that we have. i mean if that french homeless guy can be jacked as hell on bodyweight and bands then you can be freaking arnold on a hotel gym lol

Anyone use creatine or bcaa's? I remember using creatine a long long time ago. I noticed that you could see the water retention in my face and if I came off it for a week everything i gained would be lost so I just seemed like it wasn't worth it. But this was like almost 2 years ago. I used bcaa's once during my workouts and I noticed that I would recover faster, especially on long days but that was it. Just curious as to what y'alls results were/are.

I take creatine year-round. 3 months on, one month off. All it does it make your muscles hold more water, which makes you look bigger and a little stronger.

BCAA's are a waste of money if your diet is high in protein. There's a Lyle McDonald article that says that most sources of meat, dairy, and whey protein are 25% BCAA's, so as long as your diet is high in those protein sources, you don't need them. I bought a tub of ON BCAAs last year for my cut and noticed absolutely no difference. Complete waste of money to me because I consume around 250 g protein daily anyway. BCAAs are useful if you train fasted (which I think is retarded) or if your diet is low in protein (which is blasphemous)

Some of my best workouts have come from apartment gyms. I think it's b/c you go in there with the mentality that you'll just do everything, and fast (since you're mostly likely on a time crunch, or else you'd go to a big gym.).

Not sure if it's something that you could do every day though since you pretty much will be doing the same thing every time. If I had one in my current apartment, I'd probably try it for a straight month, just for shits-n-grins.
What's the worst that could happen? Loose a little strength?

I use both. Most of the time when I go to the gym I haven't eaten in 5ish hours. I drink the BCAAs during my workout. Don't know that they really help, but they don't hurt. And it's nice to have some flavor in my water instead of just plain old water.

Creatine will help give you a pump. Just cycle it like Sack said.

What creatine do you take? I always just used the monohydrate in the past but would get a flavored one every so often. Got tired of the monohydrate not mixing with anything and being gritty

I was told on a bodybuilding fb page that if you retain water while on creatine then it's due to diet and not the creatine at all, how true is that? If it's based of diet then why would I notice the retention when on it and drop the water weight once I cycled off?

No clue on whether its true. I have always heard creatine retains water, which is why you end up needing to drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration.

From what I've read, BCAAs have their place when training on an empty stomach. BCAAs keep your body from using muscle for fuel. If you train after eating, your body doesn't have to go to the muscles for fuel, but on an empty stomach, it may, which is why BCAAs can be helpful. I eat every 2-3 hrs, so the only time I don't have food in my stomach is when I'm asleep

ON. You can get 114 servings for like $15. Whatever you get, just make sure it's creatine monohydrate and Creapure. Creapure is the highest-quality creatine you can get. Not getting a Creapure creatine means it's probably mostly filler. ON is creatine monohydrate and Creapure.

Some people will tell you different, but you only need around 5g a day. Anything more just gets pissed out.

source: Creatine has a cell expanding property which “volumizes” cells. When additional creatine enters the muscle, it brings water along with it. This additional fluid actually expands your muscles giving them a full or pumped look.

Creatine is what makes you hold water. The only way your diet would make you hold water is if you eat a lot of salt. Whoever said that is feeding you broscience.

truth. I try to drink a gallon a day when on creatine.

I keep my one gallon jug on me at all times so I can monitor my water intake. I always drink the gallon and then some. Even more so in the summer since it gets so hot here.
