I supp with L-arginine, L-citrulline, a few different pre workouts, protein and massive amounts of carb powders...glycofuse and karbolyn are my go to's. I eat meats upon meats, chicken beef etc. Bagels, Greek yogurt, pizza, oreos, bananas. Very few veggies. Lots of potatoes, white rice, eggs and bacon, eggos waffles etc.

I've been in the gym regularly since 2008, but unfortunately started off on the wrong foot with crossfit. Only since about late October 2012 have I been doing weight lifting style stuff, however I always mix in very high intensity interval training at least 4 times a week, sometimes incorporating two a days.

That all being said, supps are not magic pills. Food and busting your ass will get you the gainz you want.

Apparently my wife has been taking the same picture of me the past couple of years on my birthday. I just found last years to compare to the one she took yesterday. In person I don't think I've changed at all but I see myself everyday. Looking at the pics it is clear that I have leaned out. I think it just may be the picture bc I don't remember being that thick. My weight is literally the same in both pics at 160.

I've been back at it for 2 years now, after a 4 year hiatus.

I only supp with pre workout, protein, and creatine. Some BCAAs every now and then, especially if I'm in the gym and haven't eaten in 4-5 hours.

Seems a lot of us in here eat very few veggies.

Here's the one from 2013. I was probably closer to 150 in this one but damn I miss those abs...this extra 10 pounds really hides them

I eat a lot of veggies, but usually cooked with my meats. Grilled peppers, squash, or zucchini or baked green beans or broccoli. Not sure the difference in a cooked veggie vs raw but I'm sure I cook out some of the nutrients. I also eat a lot of salad, but it's drenched in dressing.

Supps -pre workout and whey protein.

Thanks guys...learning as I go. Appriciate y'all's patients with my uneducated questions.

So, if you stopped using supplements but kept your routine (work out & diet) do you think your build would change?

At 150lbs, I'm doing the 1g per lbs protein. I'm thinking of doing a cycle of, I dont 3 months, of something & maybe stopping when I get gains...but, really don't want to loose the gains.

I'm 100% in on staying in shape. I finally had the revaluation that one of the most important things in my life was taking care of my body so it's the first thing I do (and want to do) everyday.

I don't expect change to happen rapidly, and like Derick at the suit store, people have noticed a change in my overall looks but, seeing you cats really makes me want to pursue it beyond health only.

    A cycle of what?

And no, I don't think it would change a lot....I'd just have to find different sources for stuff.

Any time I stop using creatine, I'll drop about 3 lbs in a couple days (water weight) and seem to lean up some (again, losing water weight). If you're getting enough protein without having to supplement, I woudln't worry about it. I'm getting 200-250 a day, but having to supplement to get there.

Since you've only been back at it for 3 months or so now, you'll see progress quickly...just remember to not get upset when the progress slows. Because, it will.

Yea, also not sure what you're cycling off of. If it's protein, there's no reason to cycle off of protein.

Edit: Read the oringial post wrong. What are you gonna do a cycle of?

I cycle off my pre workout usually for about a week once every couple of months. I start building up a tolerance...

You're reading my mind, that was my next question.

Bang for the buck...pound of muscle considering rapid gain and easiest to use....in a perfect scnario...starting from scratch. What would you guys recommend supplement wise?

I do eat veggies & a shit load of lean meats (chicken, turkey, fish, some beef & pork), beans, nuts, fat free cottage cheese fat free greek yogurt ect to boost my protein intake. For example & my reason is...Fage yogurt @ 23g per cup (135 calories), chicken 20g+ for only 4oz (120 calories) ect. I eat as much as my stomach will hold...really feeling too full (as I do right now). And try to do so with the lowest calorie intake to keep the body fat low. Hoping for a six pack.

I'm not concerned about boosting my energy level because I'm one of those dudes who is ALWAYS bouncing off the walls already & I mean from the second I wake up until I fall asleep..I'm already on a coffee restriction from my work withs :). Is this the right thinking?

Sleep is a other issues...I've read 8 hours a day & that's not something my body will do. 6 hours is about as long as I can stay asleep...I'm just not tired after that...and I've tried to sleep longer when I first started working out so...
