I think he was just trying to steer you in a direction. Workout partners are usually just there to spot you when lifting and, for lack of a better term, 'hang out'. Trainers are the people who, to quote you, "help motivate me to go and drop some poundage, build some muscle back."

I find the best work out partners are those that are about 10% stronger than you, or 10 % weaker.
The friendly competition Drives you to work harder than your buddy, and visa versa and both end up gaining or loosing fat lol

I cant stand trainers personally, sure if I'm there to tweak my clean or snatch or working on ring muscle ups but for general work outs, NO THANKS!

I have a few friends who also like to lift but none of them are as in to as me and only seem to slow me down when I lift with them. They want to spend time talking about what show they watched last night or their weekend plans. I put my headphones on and go to work. No time for distractions.

EVERY trainer I see at my gym or the ones that work at my work gym (I am no longer a member there since I work from home so much) are out of shape. Blows my mind how people look to them and take advice and live and die by their words. Do you even lift?

Headphones are epic, Its like a personal mute button.
I find that working out with people like that can distract you or you can lead the pack and just grind. Basic human behaviour should make them want to be part of it, or they won't and they will drop like flies.

But I'm an ass, I tell anyone working out with me :
I will never judge you for being weak, nor if your small but i will 100% judge your work ethic and effort you put into this, and believe me i rip into em

x2. I love training with people stronger than me because it makes me push harder. When training with weaker folks, I train harder to show off lol...it's a win-win. When working out with friends, I always give more because I want to prove to them that I'm better lol. I generally workout alone because my friends are lazy though lol.

I'm with you on trainers, too. This trainer at our gym was training this scrawny kid yesterday and I heard him look in the direction of me and my friend doing shoulders and he said, "that's what I wanna look like" and then proceeded to do box jumps and other shit like that. I wanted to be like, "if you wanna look how we look, why are you over there doing lunges with weights full of sand?" Find how you wanna look, find how that person got there and do what they did. You're not going to look like Arnold by doing Zumba.

Problem is most people want a quick fix and think that a trainer is the way to go and buy into what their selling. The same goes with anabolic, supplement industry and work out programs

Ill do this for all you guys, feel free to comment if you have a solid argument to stand behind and the qualification to say so :)

IF you can manage the following you will 100% loose fat, gain muscle size and feel great about yourself. IT challenges you physically but more so mentally.

    Whos interested

DONT KNOCK IT! TRY IT! Even if you cant make it past day 1. Its ok :)
Btw this is mad over training so .......... :sawzall:

day 0 Test day 7 rep max test on all major lifts
day 1 Flat bench Front squat deadlift
    day 2 Cleans arms shoulders
day 3 day off- interval cardio HIT45min
day 4 incline bench back squat pull ups
    day 5 snatch calves forearms
day 6 day off- interval cardio HIT45min
day 7 Flat bench Front squat deadlift
day 8 Snatch or clean + fill with 2 aux parts
day 9 day off- interval cardio HIT45min
    Notes
The first 3 full cycle rotations Should be 60-70% of your 7rep max , 10/10 1 min rest between super set. Your rep range should be 90% of a full rep to ensure continues muscle tension with limited unload/ off load to bone/other muscles
Day 1/4/7 cant be switch around depending on if your build and body proportion.
Day off- non fasted 1/2 carb vs training day for pre work out
Day off- recommend you do sled pushes on the treadmill, go onto the t-mill and push the belt without turning it on. Fitness determines length but 1-3 min. Walk stairs on the low end to gain your breath back
After 3 full cycles, you will do another 7 rep test (day 28)
Recalculate your next 3 cycles weight based on your test
    You can go to a 10x7 @ 90%
    you can go to a 10x5 @ 110%
    you can go to a 10x4 @ 120%
You can keep up with the 10x10@ 60-70%
I have found switching to the 120% right after a hyperthropy CNS stim works best for me but this is where you do what works on Your body
There are other parameters you can change as well, including rest, carb/ protein ratio etc

Lastly, have a garbage can close to you at all times. Chances are you will feel fine up to set 5/6 and have to dig deep and feel ill after that, have sever pump pain and want to give up. Ill edit this to explain certain concepts or aspects better

I have the worst arms in the world, i hate em so much! I think generally its the shape i have ( genetics ) as i have tried so hard to change their shape with limited improvement. Cold they sit at around 17+, which is all good and dandy, then i get a full pump on and gain massive volume and cry after they deflate
