Anyone care to point me in the right direction for recovery drinks?
My trainer just gave me a small pack (5 servings) of this for free and it works pretty good.
Used it for the first time last night after some core and leg training and I'm barely sore, whereas the 2 other people that trained with us are still complaining about soreness just from daily activities.

Is there a better product or one that would perform similarly for a lower price?

I'm just starting to get into the whole making protein shakes and everything so if there's a thread with the basics please post a link, it's a PITA trying to search on a phone.

I think those are similar to BCAAs, which I just bought some of these. I havent taken them very much to know if they help a ton or not though.

Just get a protein powder that also has some aminos in it. No need to overload the supps. The real trick to not being sore/having a better recovery is to stretch before and after. Muscles grow by stretching too. I spend 5-10 min stretching before and after, focusing on the muscle group worked that day.

A majority of supplements are money making bullcrap. So you're homework on the basics and stick to that.

If you don't have your workout, NUTRITION, and REST down already them working on those will help you more than any BCAAs will.

if you goal is to build mass and your workout are more hypertrophy based your best cheapest most effective supp is citrulline malate, cheap, proven and effective, take it preworkout and it greatly reduce lactic acid build up.

    stick to basics for now
some aminos, protein and a balanced diet

take your time researching supps, stay away from anything that's trademarked/copyrighted and fancy sounding, since 99.99% of the time they're horsehit with some horseshit on the side
edit: looked at that amino mix

a ton of aminos, some horseshit seed extracts

    coconut water powder

god fucking damnit, will that shit die already

Week 1 of the 5x5 in the books. I am up 2lbs from 158.2 to 160.2 on the week. I've been eating like a caged animal let loose in a grocery store.

I was bored Tues/Thurs not being able to go lift so I went to the driving range just to do something active. If it ever stops raining here (North Carolina) I'll try and get my bike back out on the trails on those 'off' days.

Totally agree, but if you can find pure citrulline vs C-malate it would be better as C-malate you literally need to take +_2 x the dose vs pure Citrulline. If your concerned about the malic acid for its involvement in the Kreb cycle you can buy that direct cheap ` Toss in some glycerol with beta alanine and its a solid custom built pre work out.
I also add in 5g bcaa as well as some AAKG.
