 Been awhile boys. I am still hitting the gym. Close to 5 times a week, and at times, a full 7 days. This semester has been crazy despite me having only 3 classes. I have 3 full lab reports due every week and a few 10 page term papers coming up. It certainly isn't a heavy load but I am a king when it comes procrastination . Still loving the college life and am sad I only have another year left :pout:.

I keep trying to get to the gym around 6 but with classes starting at 9 MWF and at 1:20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays I find myself hitting the snooze button more than not. Anyways, crushed legs this morning. Still keeping workouts simple and hitting the basic core lifts. I did back/front squats and finished with deads today. I noticed no one in the gym actually rubs the bars on their legs when completing a dead lift. I was walking around with one big red stripe on my legs from my shins to my thighs .

Question for you guys. I know it has been addressed before but this thread needs some more discussion. I am trying to get my girlfriend more into the gym. She goes and isn't saying the typical "I don't want to look manly" bs. Instead she just seems to absolutely hate going to the gym. I can't figure out why. She is in shape and looks great. I could care less about her losing weight or building muscle. Any ideas on how to make it a positive experience instead of a negative one? We do not use the same gym so I am not working out with her.

In order for a girl to look manly, she has to devote night and day to weights and have a diet to match. I have a friend who lifts every day, eats healthy and far from manly, but has super good looking.

And that's pretty much true for endo and ecto girls.

I said she isn't spewing that bs . She just seems to hate the gym. I just think it would be a great way for her to relieve stress as well and want to make it a enjoyable experience.

My knee has kinda been acting up for some reason since the beginning of this month. Not sure what changed in it, but gains have been on hold and this is wach. So i started a pretty scheduled stretching plan and WOW, why haven't I done this before? My hips have always been my sticky joints that need a little love to get going and they are moving like a well oiled machine right out of bed

Also going to bed without being all amped up from a workout is pretty nice.

Also also, i propose using the term wach in place of zach. Because zach is wach until he returns.

Ask her how she likes to relieve stress because what works for you may not work for someone else. My gf runs to relieve stress. I find running the worst thing since unsliced bread.

I find lifting heavy things while screaming bloody murder staring my self down in the gym to be relaxing andy gf does not. Wtf is wrong with her?

My former hs football s&c coach was 55. We cracked a joke on him and he proceeded to power clean 285 like a champ. We never made another "you're just getting old" joke again lol.

Be he had an awesome workout plan for us.

Monday was back squat and hang cleans
Tuesday bench and other stuff (I forget )
    Wednesday power cleans and dl
Thursday incline bench and lots of abs
Friday power snatch and front squat

    30 seconds between sets
Lots of little lifts mixed in
He knows his stuff and if I were going into s&c as a carrier in would want to learn from this man.

That's also where I got the leg work out i mentioned to @dwalden2 a while back.

I am on a cutting phase now. At the beginning of the year, I was just lifting heavy weights and I got huge. I was actually taking in a lot of calories. Back in August I started my cutting phase and still in it. I love doing cardio more then lifting. Every day I do at least an hour of cardio(sometimes to switch up the routine, I'll do 30 or 45 mins), and then I do weights(light to med weights, but a shit ton of reps)...
Now to add onto it...for the winter months
I do my 300 workout or cross fit workouts on Friday(same concept....light weights...shit ton of reps)
and every morning I do a 7 min plank challenge, alternating between multiple plank series...and at the gym i do my regular 30 day plank challenge.
Rest days will vary, depending how I feel.....Usually Sundays and Wednesdays.

Only supplements I take and use are....Fish Oil, L-Arginine(1000mg), L-Glutamine(1000mg) and protein (Wheyobolic Extreme Ripped)
    Other exercise I do....I swim Competitively...practice (Monday-Wednesday-Friday-Saturday) mornings!!!

Any suggestions??....more days of rest maybe?

Okay, so the big question I have for you is that for this cutting phase you have been in and the apparent energy expenditure you have been putting out, how do you feel? What has your weight done? How has your body composition changed? The big variable here for you (and the great equalizer for everyone) is what kind of food and how much are you ingesting on a daily basis?

What are your goals? You are putting in a ton of work, but are you training for something in particular? Are you training for aesthetics, a sport, or just to be healthier?

Fill us in with your lifestyle stuff outside of just how much you work out and we can help direct you more.

    that would be frightening,

im 220 and actively working on gaining the Canadian record for strict over head press in 100% raw. The record for example in the 110Kg class is 110kg, my goal for the 100kg class is 116kg as that was my PR but future aspiration is to get 125kg and this is for a single rep.

I lift for 40 to 62 hours a week in negative 20 or positive 29. Some pallets i gotta get down on my hands and knees to grab the case at the back of a pallet. Makes you a bit stiff after a whole day. And since its production work me keeping my job takes precedent over me lifting. Id rather be to sore to lift than to sore to make production.

And to be clear i didnt spend a dime on any of that. So perhaps thats where my lack of motivation stems from lol.

Do you guys think a protein "blend" or just whey is better as a general protein if you could only buy one or the other? This past time I tried BSN syntha 6 which is a blend but it didn't last long in my system meaning I was hungry an hour after drinking my shake. Of course assuming either one fits in your macros
