Didn't hit the gym for almost 7 days (had a 3 day back country ski trip, school and trip prep that took all my time) then when I got back in the gym I put up some dumb bells for a flat press for my third lift and just dropped em right on my chest #nopeivedoneenough

Right now I'm at 212 from 215. Trying to shed a few pounds because of the holidays and I had a back injury... I came back to the gym and my weight lifting belt didn't fit, I had to adjust it a notch bigger :anonymous:

Alright, gym brahs, I ran out of Pre-Jym last night. I'd give it a 6/10. I dunno if my caffeine tolerance is high or what, but everything I've tried lately has sucked. I drink 1 cup of coffee every morning and that's really my only source of caffeine. I'm bout to get back on dat hyphy mud lol. The only pre-workouts that work wonders for me are Assault, TSN Pump-Igniter, and Finaflex Stimul8.

    Next on the list is:

    Cobra Labs: The Curse
    GAT PMP
    Pro Supps Mr. Hyde

    Any other suggestions?

    Gym guys...

Need some tips. Back in 2011, I weighed 330lbs (I'm 5'11"). By summer 2012 I was down to 230lbs, and from summer 2012 to summer 2013, I shed even more weight... down to 210 but got into some heavy lifting. My bench only got up to 225lbs (135lb 10 rep warm up, 3x10 @ 200, fail set at 225 (usually about 7 reps), squatting was up to 315 (135lb warm up, 4x10 @ 255lbs, then a fail at 315 for 7-9 reps). I was eating about 3,200 of the cleanest calories a day possible, and drinking over a gallon of water a day. I took no workout supplements except for whey and casein protein. I participated in a research study at the university I was attending, and their sports health research department found my basal metabolic rate to be like 2,400 calories. I was impressed with where I had gotten after being at 330lbs.

Then in summer 2013 I had a bad thumb accident - lost part of my right thumb. I couldn't lift for a long time. I couldn't even do cardio because when my heart rate would elevate, my thumb would throb horribly. So I wasn't even in the gym. I started going late fall, but then got derailed again my some challenging college classes that required a lot of study time. Started getting into it spring of 2014 again but then I finished school and started working full time. Ever since working full time, my gym life has collapsed. I used to spend 5 days a week in the gym, and now after working all day, I really struggle to get into the gym. I've gained like 30lbs, lost a lot of muscle mass. What can I do to re-jump start myself? I work a physical, on my feet job all day long, and I'm up at 530am every morning. By 5pm, I just want to relax and kick my feet up, but thats being lazy and laziness didn't get me to drop 120lbs, yet I can't seem to drag my ass back into the gym. Any recommendations? Or do I just need to suck it up and stop being lazy/whining?

I'll add it to the list

I get more of a rush from Jolly Ranchers than that shit lol. They do have a nwe formula that isn't too bad though...although, all I think they did was double the size of the scoop lol

I'll check it out, too. That's how Finaflex Stimul8 was for me. I've been telling folks in here for years about it, but no one's tried it yet. I had to quit working out b/c my heart rate was so high. It was like what I would imagine doing meth would be like lol..I dunno who no one will try it

I'll tell you what I do, although I sit at a desk all day, so I'm ready to fuck shit up after work. I couldn't imagine doing manual labor for a living lol. I balance working, law school, a social life, and the gym just fine though. I make it a priority to hit the gym at least 3 days a week. You can get fantastic results by going just 3 days a week. Take a pre-workout right after work and you may get that extra jolt you need to get fired up. Go on Saturday and Sunday and then you'll only have to go after work 1 day. Get a workout partner who will hold you accountable if you don't wanna show up. The gym is fun for me, so I rarely don't want to go. Make it fun and you'll want to go. My friends always bitch about not being able to go to the gym, but if you've got time to watch tv at night, go to the bar, watch 4 hrs of football, etc., you've got time for the gym.

You have to change it up to keep it interesting. Go at a different time because seeing the same old faces gets old. Start trying different routines and supplements. Like I said take a pre workout. Start taking ninja pics of people lifting with bad form like someone else here does. Shit like that.

Bottom line is it won't be fun until you start seeing gains again, but you will. You'll get back faster than it took you the first time. Just be patient.

I'm at a totally different gym now. But I do think I need to find a gym partner. I just hate trying to work with someone elses schedule.

I usually workout alone, but I go at the same time every day after work, so if some of my friends are there, we all workout together, which is fun. Both of my friends I usually workout with are freaks, so it's fun to have people lifting heavy ass weight and getting the testosterone and shit-talking flowing. We make it fun by talking shit on each other, bullshitting in between sets, etc. If you have folks to talk to, it's fun. Then again, I also love putting in my headphones and doing my own thing. Nothing gets me in the zone more than some loud-ass music to lift to. Try that. If you can make going to the gym fun, you'll want to go. I never dread going. 90% of the people at my gym don't want to be there, but there are those people who you can tell love it. You just have to realize that once you stop, you're going to lose it all, so you've got to keep going...accept it as an inevitability lol. Once you realize you're in it for life, it becomes part of your routine and you'll feel like shit when you miss it. Get some fitness magazines to read, find an ideal physique and follow that person on social media, etc. I follow Arnold, Steve Cook, and a few other fitness pages that make me want to get in the gym and mimic them. You've just got to find a goal, set it, and go for it.

For me it was just finding a hobby that required me to be physically fit. For the longest time I had the Army to stay in shape for. When I went to college it lasted about a year and a half. Lost interest, etc.

Getting back into it seemed like a lot of work for nothing. I literally needed a reason workout other than "getting in shape". Pick a hobby that helps you see the changes. Something as simple as a weekend hike. You'll notice weight gains and cardio improvement.

That's some real talk right there. I've always been a fan of the Vin Diesel physique... even researched his measurements and stuff. I gotta make it my goal to achieve that.

There ya go. I'd find a pic of him you like (no homo lol) and put it on your wall or in your phone or something. I don't want to be as big as Arnold (not that I ever could, anyway), but he's my ultimate motivation because of how hard he worked and how he credits his discipline in the gym as having a major influence on all of his successes in life. Also, dude is a fucking beast lol. If you constantly surround yourself with people bigger and better than you, it helps (for me, anyway). I get Muscle and Fitness magazine and follow tons of fitness pages (mostly funny ones) and a lot of sponsored bodybuilders. Constantly seeing all that motivates me to get my ass in the gym to try and mimic it. If you have all that in your face, you'll feel bad if you don't go. There's one group of guys at the gym I hate being around because they're so fucking huge and it makes me feel like a bitch, but when I workout with them, I'm sore for days and they provide great motivation. Rather than saying I'll never be that big or shredded, I try to keep up.

oh yeah I already follow funny fitness pages, and I'm on some helpful ones too. Currently my biggest obstacle is myself.
