I agree, but I respect that they are sticking to something like that very publicly though...

They're probably just doing the vegan thing for more views. They're probably eating a hamburger right now as we speak.

After a while, watching them eat in their car then watching them put on 225 on the incline bench everytime.. It gets old. They had to do something to keep it fresh.

@zacharypaul89 I bought the arnold shirt in medium... I'm just gonna hope it shrinks a little after I wash it.

Science shows, if you milk your prostate an hour before workout followed by a shot of whiskey you will increase strength by 25-30% and endurance by 20-25%.. Large increase in visceral fat reduction and muscle gains. 8 out of 10 of participants also showed increase vigor and libido. Lowering risk of prostate cancer and bitch tits.

I've stopped watching the Hodge Twins. They made a video a loooong time ago about how they'd never sell out like all these other fitness guys do...then they went and sold out. Then they turned vegan. They're just annoying now.

My neighbor has been trying to workout with me for the last few weeks but he goes first thing in the morning (8am-ish) and I usually sleep until 9:30 so we've "been on different schedules". I finally caved and went this morning with him at 8:20. He's been telling me about his buddy "who is a beast" for a while and he was lifting with him this morning so I wanted to see for myself and I wanted a challenge. Well, he showed up and from waist up he was a beast. He benches 345 as his max and can push press 225 but his legs...lets just say I think he has skipped every leg day ever. Lol - I feel bad bashing him, he was actually a cool dude. Anyway, it was "leg day" and I let my neighbor pick the workout. He found something online.
    Squats 12,10,8,6,4
DB step up 4x10 (each leg)
DB farmer lifts (basically DB deads) 4x10
    Romanian deads 4x10
    Calf raises 4x12 (I did 4x50)
My neighbor is "strong" but nothing like what I've been doing. He's got huge biceps but he's got a dad bod and he's only 5'6" so he's stumpy. He wrestled in high school and college but he's 38 now. He did have a golf scholarship and he crushes me everytime we play, so he at least has that. He did his own squat bar in one rack and I set up another. His buddy tried to hang with me but he tapped out at 280 while I went to 300(I could've done more obv). It felt good to outlift him after hearing my neighbor talk about how much of a "beast" he was. It was even better when I heard my neighbor tell his buddy that "Jon is a beast" right before I went for my first set.

    TLDR: DON'T SKIP LEG DAY!

seems like a big jump trying to max to go up 45lbs at such a heavy weight.

I remember the first time I tried getting 225 on bench. I did 10 warm up reps with 135 and then stuck 225 on and it dropped on my chest like a bag of bricks and I couldn't budge it. You don't want to tire yourself out by doing too many reps to get to your max, but your muscles loosen up and allow you get that heavier weight if you progress slowly. 10-15lb increments once you start nearing your max. Even just 5lb jumps

so........jerkoff before gym? I'm not Kanye...I'm not sticking my finger up my butt.

Yeah, I never watched them religiously, but if I googled a topic and they had a video, I'd watch it for entertainment. Once they started showing Hodgetwins commercials endorsing supps before the videos, I knew it was gonna be bad lol

Lol I love it! I dunno why folks don't feel the need to do legs, but it always seems to be the dudes who are powerhouses from the waist up and 12 year old girls from the waist down. It's sad, but funny. I like being one of the top 3-4 squatters at my gym (and that's not saying much with a 365 max). There's at least 5-6 dudes I see every week doing nothing but upper body shit all the time...they also wear pants everyday, too.

    Damn, that's a big jump from 405 to 450!

When I max on anything, I usually do 10 @ 135, 4-5 @ 225 and then go for the max.

Arnold taught me to work my way up. His 'method' has a lot more reps than I usually do. He does something like 20 warm up 15,12,8,5,3,1,1,1,1,1 ect until you max. I tried that once and was done by the set of 3 and didn't get a true max. I usually do a set of 10, 4-5, 2,2 and then 1,1,1,1 ect but I try to start my 1st set of 1 either at my previous max or slightly past it and then go up 5-10 depending on how easily I got it

I've tried doing what my friends do, which is similar to the Arnold thing, but I just get too tired and my max goes down as a result. I like to be just warm enough to have the blood flowing in the muscles, but not so warm that it affects how much I can lift.
