If I'm reading this right (I'm 5'9")...my max weight would be 180 with my current 10% BF leaving LBM 163. Close enough to my 185 "goal"

Just LBM, right? If so, obviously, you're on steroids.

Damn, am I the tallest guy in this thread?!

At 5'9" , I spent most of the last 10 years hovering between 180-185. Went up to 205 and was strong as hell but everything I enjoyed doing besides lifting took a hit. Slowly been cutting and am currently around the 170 mark (and leaner than I have ever been). The last time I was in the 170s, I was in high school. Honestly I think this is my ideal weight while replacing a few lbs of fat with muscle.

    I'm 6'1 :D but way weaker.

I'm 15lbs under the LBM for my height not counting bf. Kinda curious what my bf is now...

is the lean body mass 0 % fat then? I'm confused ish....
Because lets say the 6'0 category : thats 184 pounds at say 0 % fat. if i say I'm 20% fat, 184x 1.20 is 220#. Im 235-240..... say @ 20% which would give me 200# of lean body mass and no I'm not on juice either

Lean body mass is your total weight, minus your fat (includes muscle, water, organs, bones, etc). No one can be 0% fat.

The formula you would want to use is Lean body mass/(1-desired body fat percentage).

    So if I am 150.9 lbs of lean mass/ (1-.10) = 167.7 lbs at 10% bf

No, technically 150.9 lean mass is quantified as 5-8% body fat i am told

so me at 240 @ a number of 20% BF(using a higher bf for argument sake) , if lean body mass is 5-8% then thats is : 240/1.15 to 240/1.12 209-205lbs over their projection of 184. Thats over a 20 pound difference from their number.....

Oh okay, I got you. At 235 and 20% bf and 6'0", your LBM is 188. The chart says max is 184, so you're not that far over.

The chart is assuming one has 5-8% bf, but it doesn't matter b/c at that height and weight, muscle mass won't change.

    Yo math aint right ;)

If the LBM comparison is set at 5-8 % lets just go extreme and say 5%.
    If I'm 20% there is a 15% difference between the 2, I .e id have to loose 15% fat.
    Thus, @ 5 % id be 204

That calculation was for me at 5'9"....you are 6'.

5-8% is not a good for the average male to maintain for extended periods of time.

Regardless, in the grand scheme of things this crap doesnt matter. Use a mirror to judge and everyone has a different definition of "in shape".

I was using the LBM calculator at bb.com. I dunno how accurate it is.

I wasn't comparing me and you. I was using the Charts data saying LMB is some one at 5-8% BF. I totally agree that 5-8 % is a little to low though but this is just for argument sake of NATTY OR NOT.

I've gone to two other lbm calculators and plugged in your #'s and it gave me 188 each time. So, according to the three LBM calculators and the chart I used, you're 4 lbs over the natural limit, so you're obviously on steroids.

I wasnt comparing either....I was simply trying to give you another means of estimating a good goal weight which in my opinion correlates well with the findings that Zach posted.

Body weight - (body weight % body fat percentage)
    240-(240*.20)= 192lbs

192 lbs lean body mass / (1 - .10) = 172 lbs at 10% body fat would be a good starting base number.
