Spoke to soon this morning. Went to my club's buffet dinner and it was "southern" night and I had the fried chicken. All of the fried chicken. Made the mistake of weighing myself when I got home and I'm now up 7lbs from this morning. I think I'm just going to sleep on the toilet and hope it all falls out

I, for one, like squats. The rest of leg day can go fuck itself though.

Just the general D-baggery. Everyone trying to make a buck on Youtube with a Fitness channel, The mass amounts of misinformation. Supplement company's setting unrealistic standards for the inexperienced along with so called "Nattys". Scrawny kids walking around my gym in stringers with selfie sticks setting up tripods so they can record themselves benching 135 lol. I have been lifting for close to 7 years now I feel I have achieved alot I just cannot stand the Zyzz - Gymshark mentality.

I don't watch any of the YouTube videos outside of bro science. He is just hilarious. My gym is kind of a neighborhood gym and there is a high school in my neighborhood too so in the afternoons it starts to fill up with the type you have described. I try to go in the mornings to avoid them but if I can't get it in in time they actually provide some entertainment. Especially when they happen to be on the same muscle group as me and I can casually outlift them with ease. I like to think I'm providing them inspiration :notsure:

Those are just people that those kids happen to look up to. However, I agree with the "magical supplements" and all of the other misinformation that everyone gives out. That's why I like Bradley, he's straightforward.

I don't have much of that at the small gym I go to. There was one group that was, I assume, periscoping their workout. Squatting 135. I just ignore them. Don't watch much of the YouTube videos. Broscience and Bradley martyn.

The ones I hate are the guys that say they're natty when you can tell they're not. And then stand around flexed when they're talking to someone so they look jacked. Several of those around here. I can deal with the scrawny kids thinking they're bigger than they are. The bigger dudes that think they're god's gift to the lifting world because they stick a needle in their ass and go around claiming natty...they can go suck a dick.

If you're not natty, I don't care. Just admit it.

To address the BS...yes, I am actually tired of it. Been tired of it for a few years now. Mostly since I have to use the university gym and thus being forced to be around 18-20 year olds with an ego and infinite wisdom on how to get jacked, while burning fat, but also get so trashed every weekend you don't even remember what happened.

That said, I have gotten over most of it. Some things still get at me but I just kind of blocked it out of my life. I don't frequent youtube lifting videos. I only take pre and protein as supplements and I stick to what works for me. No reason to browse BB.com to find new products and see the crazy claims they make. I do my own thing and that keeps me from seeing all the ads on various lifting sites or all the workouts that "add 10 lbs of lean mass in 2 weeks".

I also hang around the guys in the gym that actually lift. We just kinda hang out by the squat racks and stick to the basics. Occasionally going to the dumbbells to do some arms.

If I wasn't paying for this gym with my tuition, I would just find one that had a bunch of people similar to me and be done with the craziness.

I wish there were more gyms around here. I've got 3 in town. The one I go to, which several of my friends go to, one that has most of the douchebags/roid users (but also several attractive females...which there are none at my gym), and one where all the old people go and Dumbbells only go up to 80lbs. I'd like to have a gym with people that actually want to lift, but aren't douchebags.

if you ever want supp advice, just ask here yo

I like that it's trending to be the norm now. competing seems easier to get into, and overall the idea of going to the gym isn't as "extreme"

but the concept as a whole is still going through growing pains
the video culture is fine with me, people can do what they want- but the misinformation out there is what pisses the ever loving fuck out of me.

shit supps and supps that try to change with the trendy bullshit is at the top of the list. The industry as a whole needs a fuckton more regulation to prevent this "RippedSuperstrongXTREMEblend: velvet bean extract, essence of manure" bullshit

I think all of the videos on youtube are hilarious. I particularly like Vegan Gains because he calls people out on their bullshit. However, I don't like any of the other stuff he says about being vegan or how meat is bad.

Sorry for the huge multi quote, but I had to read all day yesterday

Hey man, you earned it though! I kinda wish I would've joined up to get all this shit payed for!

yes to all. Luckily, there are only 2 gyms in my town. The gym I go to I used to work at, so I know all the regulars. I go around 5-6pm and there are always newbs in there, but most of them keep to themselves. Our gym has an area in the back corner where all the heavy lifting and loudness goes down, so people don't come back there unless they've got thick skin. If those types of people come in who film themselves, take selfies, act hard, etc., the regulars have no problem calling them out at all. I've seen kids almost cry lol. I love the shit-talking atmosphere though. It definitely pushes you to lift more when the big-ass dude spotting you is calling you a pussy-ass bitch lol. I also like working out with the 'roid folks, though most of my gym's users don't try to hide it.

But yes, all the bullshit you described is retarded. Eat, lift, and sleep is all you need. People are such egomaniacs now and everyone wants internet gratification through followers, likes, and views and I think it's stupid. These people who post constant selfies, progress pics, etc. have some serious self-esteem issues....although I do post the occasional laundry room perfect lighting selfie in this thread just for @tacopaulo

    :anonymous:

Now, I'm not a chemist, but I've been saying this for years. ON whey, a pre-workout, and the occasional creatine cycle is all I take.
