Coworker of mine has always given me shit about going to the gym so much and trying to eat cleaner. He's 6'3 or 4 and about 320 lbs. He's 20 years old. He had to take health/fitness in college this semester. They make you go to the gym twice a week. He started Monday in the gym, started a week ago eating better. No sugar, lower carbs, nothing sfter 9 pm. He said "if I get obsessed like you, I'm gonna quit. I don't want to be like you and want to go to the gym every day." Well, after a week or so on the diet he realized he has so much more energy and feels better. After he went to the gym Monday, he came to work yesterday and said how sore he was, but how much he liked it and how much better he felt. Today was day #2 in the gym and he messaged me and said "OK, I only feel like 30% sore and 70% FREAKING AWESOME after today's workout."

I'm excited for the kid. I've always told him he could be a monster if he started lifting. I hope he sticks with it.

That's how anyone I convince to go to the gym reacts. Always hesitant and thinks I am crazy but then gets hooked after a couple days after they see how much better everything is on the other side.

It's because they get noob gains instantly and think they'll be making gains at that rate the rest of the way. When you hit a plateau is where shit gets real and they all quit after that.

That's how my neighbor is right now. I'm waiting patiently for him to hit that plateau so I can welcome him back to Earth. He was working out before he started with me but he would just go for 2 hours and chat with anyone he could and do some bicep curls. I moved in a little over a year ago and he saw all my gains and finally started working out with me after New Years. I took his body fat about 3 weeks into us working out and he was around 13.5% (He weighs 180ish and is 5' 6"ish). I see him everyday so I don't notice changes as much but to me, he looks the same as when we started but he claims by next month he will be single digit body fat. I'm so much leaner and stronger than him and I'm still right at 10% so when we do his body fat again and he is still around 13% I'll have a nice welcome back card ready for him.

Wish I could go back to newb gainz. My first year in the gym, I went from about 140 to 160 @ 5'11." Now, I'm glad to gain 5-10 lbs of lean mass in a year...still beats being a skinny bitch though

Hell, just getting him in the gym is an accomplishment. He's a big boy. And he isn't active at all. Even if he decides he doesn't want to get huge, just getting him off his ass is a good thing.

That's awesome. BTW I wasn't directing my previous comment to him lol. I was just stating some of my observations. Check out this guy from the bb forum who initially joined to troll and he ended up losing like 400 lbs or so..

That's what I've kept telling him. He could be a beast.

No, I know. I expect him to do that, though. He's never been one to stick with much of anything. I've known him since he was a baby. I hope he becomes one of us that gets addicted after he sees progress. Even if it's not to become a monster, just to not be fat.

Sadly, without drugs, it's damn near impossible to gain muscle and lose fat simultaneously. Some can get away with it when they're experiencing newb gainz, but for the bulk of us, it's impossible. Just keep on losing until you get where you want and then you'll be able to enjoy looking at all that sexy muscle underneath the fat. Then, you can focus on packing on serious muscle!

We get it, you like to suck dudes off.

I'm about to throw a plate at the side of his knees.

Solid workout day for me. Sickness is pretty much gone. I can feel it ever so slightly lingering.

Hit chest hard, light weight, 10 reps each set. Quick 20 dips and focused on triceps with the cables. The slammed some hammer curls to finish up.

Then I came home and took the pup for a light 2 mile jog. Gonna foam roll the hell out of my IT band and then take a long hot bath with a warm cup of tea.
