I will at lunch in a few hrs.

I watch myself in the mirror on EVERY lift

regular squats, but SUPER deep will hit hammies. Or just so stiff-legged deadlifts lol

shoulda got that on film! Ask for security footage

I'm the opposite. Looking in the mirror on squats and deadlifts throws me off

242 class 100% raw tested. James phraner has the record currently at 485. Guy doesn't train legs though which bothers me. His upper body is so much bigger then mine but his legs are tiny in comparison. I'm not willing to give up one lift to get better at another. Gotta stay functional. I've worked with him and Joe C (polish last name I won't try to spell) Joe weighed 142 and benched 600. One of the only guys to ever bench 4x body weight. Both great guys and I learned alot from them, but last time we got teams together- my guys beat there guys. At least I'm better at training guys then they are since I can't beat either outright yet haha. I'll get to 485 eventually but I might weigh too much at the time. I can only loose about 10% body weight via water weight the day before so it'll be close at my current weight. So say at 250#s I wouldn't have trouble getting down 25#s the day before for weigh in

You're a brave man posting that here...

Little high and stance is too narrow IMO, but I'll defer to the experts. You're well on your way to a great squat though. 295 is nothing to scoff at.

ETA: probably shouldn't have said "narrow." More than likely it's your feet pointing straight ahead instead of having your toes angled out that makes it look that way.

I usually do have my feet angled out, can't tell in the video since the angle cuts at my ankles. Probably stage fright from being on camera :anonymous:

Hard to see the form from this angle though. if anything just watch dem knees

they add a ton of core support for when you just cant squeeze your asshole anymore

I use mine mainly on 85%+ lifts both to make my dick feel strong and ensure my spine doesnt titanic
I'd stay away from it until the weights get really heavy though. Seems like a lot of people use a belt too early and become reliant on the support and build their form around it

anyone else have those BB wannabes at their gyms that just wear a belt 100% of the time?

    lat pulls? belt
    db curls? belt
    drinking water? belt
all standing around to spend too much time talking to other BB wannabes wearing belts? belt

The knees coming in on the lifts are what made me think about the foot angle. I would be camera shy too! Maybe I need to face my fears and post a vid here!

I'm still testing all my limits for my lifts. I did squats today. I was able to get 275 x4 but I was using a bench (won't be doing that again) so I don't really count those. But I think I could hit it again with fresh legs.

I have 3 or 4 of those guys at my gym. Kills me. Curls, shrugs, leg extensions...gotta belt up, son!

There's really nothing wrong with box squats. I do them from time to time, and a couple different ways. Like someone said, sometimes I'll barely scrape the box and start back up. Sometimes I'll totally sit on the box and start back up from a dead stop. I feel a lot more stress on my hams and glutes that way. Just watch your form and don't rock.

The knee situation has been addressed... But, I'll add in when you're descending you get to a point and then it seems you bend over and then continue with the ass, that should be all in one movement. Doesn't look terrible though man.

Ha yeah I think I'm going through a mental checklist in my head so it doesn't happen smoothly. That's the same reason I suck at golf. Spend too much time thinking about what I'm doing while I'm doing it instead of just doing it

why i said looks fine: ) just keep crushing it. I think people worry to much so unless there is something MAJOR or blatant don't stress and lift.

As for a belt, i lift heavy as fk and don't use a belt at all. I have tried to use a belt and it only causes me discomfort. No increased power, no increased weight. I have just become accustomed to push against my diaphragm for stability and power.

Only on 315+ on squats and dl's

Yessss. Equipment whores. There's a few dudes that look like they walked out of an Academy Sports catalog. Fingerless gloves, knee wraps, elbow wraps, wrist wraps, belt, etc. I wanna be like, "Brah, you're doing biceps...calm down."

It really irks my nerves when men wear gloves in the gym. Only equipment I use is wrist wraps on super heavy shit and a belt on super heavy shit (super heavy is all relative lol...to me, it's 315+)

Love golf. I used to play a lot, but with law school, I only get to play maybe once every couple months now. I'm going Sunday morning for my cousin's b-day. I'm with you though. There's so much shit to think about when you swing.

I'm trying to get to the point where I don't rely on any equipment at all. Gotta build my grip and diaphragm strength.
