Suicide grip...now I know why they call it that. Never had a problem until yesterday. The real issue though was my lack of focus and paying attention to what I was doing after the lift. I should have slowly lifted it up onto the pins instead of swinging it back like I usually do (they're more like hooks at this gym that stick straight up but a little higher, where as I am used to the angled pins, and the difference in height is what got me - threw the bar right out of my hands). Lesson learned. No more suicide grip, although not sure it would have made a difference here.

Girls and the damn stair stepper. They go slow so they dont break a sweat and then stay on it for an hour. We have 4 of them in our gym and they are always taken. I am close to just sitting behind them until they get uncomfortable and leave.

Look into getting a pumice stone and using it on your hands. I haven't ripped my hands bad enough to bleed since I started doing so myself

Late to the party, but I eat at 8am, noon, 3pm, 6pm, 8pm, and 10pm. My 3pm meal is my pre-workout meal and it is usually a turkey burger and strawberry banana V8. If I don't gorge down carbs before a workout, I'm useless. My body has gotten so used to being fed at least every 3-4 hrs that I crash if I miss a meal.

I like both. Generally, I work out alone and I like it. Sometimes if I have time, I'll workout with friends, but not much because we talk too much. We workout great because we push each other, but the talking in between makes it drag out too long. Whether alone or with friends, I love working out with people around. Something about having people watch puts the pressure on me and makes me want to lift more and heavier. I hate working out in an empty gym #attentionwhore

Glad you stayed and didn't bitch out! That's the mentality that keeps 99% of the people out of the gym and out of shape; they think people are gonna stand around and judge them, but generally, it's the opposite. Whenever I see newbs in the gym, my main thought is, "good for you." Especially when I see skinny dudes...I used to be the scrawny kid, so I know how it feels to walk onto a gym at 140 lbs not knowing what the fuck is going on lol.

    upload_2016-5-9_8-30-34.jpg

That's been the story of my life for like the past month...With finals, wedding showers, Mother's Day, and other shit, my diet and gym life has been a fucking disaster. Made it into the gym twice last week and stuck to my diet maybe 4 days...first thing I told my wife this morning when I woke up was that I'm about to start hitting it hard starting today. I lost about 7-8 lbs since March by dieting hard during the week and slacking off on the weekends, but now I've just stopped caring altogether. I'm gonna plan on having only 1 cheat meal per week and no more than 3-4 drinks on the weekends. My goal was to be down to 10% by the end of May, but that's not gonna happen. If I can get my shit together, I'm hoping I can hit that by the end of June. We shall see

Also, here's the Fitbit I was talking about earlier. Works fine, but it's been worn, so there's wear and the band is cracked. Someone make me an offer and it's yours. It's the Surge and I think they're $200 new:

They still retail for over $300 Canadian. Mine won't charge anymore and the band is torn. Updated to Fitbit blaze and I love it. Battery life beats surge because it no longer has gps on the watch itself but piggy backs to your phone

I had the Charge HR and loved it, but I'm a big Apple queer, so I had to get the Apple Watch when it came out; it's not as fitness-oriented as Fitbit, but the other stuff it does makes up for that. I thought about selling my Apple Watch and getting the Blaze, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Battery life on the Apple Watch sucks...gotta charge it every night.

I get 5 days on the blaze. I'm a big apple fag too but couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a watch. Truck parts come first lol

True that. Mine was my wedding gift from the wife back in Sept. I always tell people that ask about it that I love it, but I wouldn't buy one. Same with my Yeti cooler I got for Christmas a few years ago...it's great, but I'd never pay more than $20 for a cooler lol.

Yeti are awesome but insanely over priced. I also got one as a gift, but it's been the only cooler to stand up to the abuse I put it through, and damn does it keep shit cold. I leave my house at 630 am and don't get home until 11 or 12 at night, so I keep my lunch, dinner and almond milk for protein shakes in there. It's still ice cold when I get home at night, even after sitting in a car for 15-16 hours, even in the summer when it's 100+ degrees out.
