Just got back from Nashville! Thanks for the restaurant recommendations! Cool downtown and great to see where a lot of the original bad ass outlaw country stars played "real" country music and we all know, got down to the ground and straight up partied! Only spotted a handful of guys and gals that looked like they regularly work out.. that was between traveling around Nashville to Knoxville and back. Same with tacomas. A lot more newer trd pro 4runners. Just like everyone on this thread, it is so great to be in the small % of all peeps to stay fit! I mainly work out alone but am surrounded by a good group of folks that are very dedicated. During a hellacious workout it's fun to think that we are the minority! Lots of hard work and never any excuses!!

Haven't gone heavy on barbell bench in many years. About 14 years ago my max was 355 (I weighed 205)....shortly after I tore a rotator cuff and have been a dumbbell guy since then. Monday I said screw it and went for it. I hit 335 twice. It felt good to push 3 big plates and a few small ones again.....especially good for a 45 year old.

You can do the calculators, but there's a slight margin for error...same with calipers and handheld tests. They're all probably a good guesstimate though. You can also just google guys with __% body fat and compare yourself to them. Try to find someone with your body type and that's a pretty good guess, too. They one sure-fire way to do it is to do one of those water tests (hydrostatic test?), but it's not really worth the money unless you just reeeeeeally wanna know.

Haha we keep ours up, but we keep it hidden from guests so they don't think we're crazy or anything

That spike was badass. I've got to start doing some cardio. We planted our garden yesterday afternoon and I thought I was gonna pass out. I was just hoeing up holes for like 20 mins and I was out of breath and it was embarrassing, considering where I used to be on a cardio level. Gonna start on that shit my next workout.

Yeah I know I thought about that after I posted. But I figured if we had a bunch of selfies of men, we had to have some eye candy every now and then.

TW is pretty cool NOT TOO PC yet. YET!

I didn't think the post was bad at all or ban-worthy. I just said that b/c you said:

I took that as you trying to purposely get the thread shut down.

What's up guys/gal? FNG here, well not really been following this for about a year or so. Deployed to the Middle East right now so not sure how much I'll be able to contribute. Been lifting for a couple years now, nothing to crazy...if I find a pic I'll ghey it up for a minute. Anyways, look forward to talking with you all.

I think the key is to pick one method and use only that. They all have degrees of error but if you are consistently using the same method then your change over time would be an accurate result. I use the calipers. I try to take it every couple of weeks. I track it (and calculate it) in the "bodytracker" app...
