Thank ya sir. We go about once a week and play. It's a lot of fun. Had to test the GoPro last night since I bought it a couple days ago.

Just got a new PR on DB bench. Pushed 75's 5 times (I know it's not a lot for you big fuckers, but let me live in it) on my 4th set. So I rewarded myself with 2 rolls of sushi afterwards. Went to some hole in the wall Japanese place right off campus, dude that made my sushi didn't even speak engrish and it was the best damn sushi I've ever had.

A PR is a PR, don't worry about what others are lifting. Only thing that matters is that you're lifting more than you did yesterday. Insert cliche: "your only competition is yourself." Congrats brotha.

Yeah dude that's awesome! I remember when I first got in to lifting and I was always on the 40 and 50lb DBs and felt great saying I got 80 and 100lb on some presses. Then it got easier and I moved up to the 60 and 70lb ones then finally hit the 75 pounders. At the time my gym had up to 100lb so that was always my white whale. I kept working my way up and would get 80 or 90 a couple times, finally hit 95 for a few and knew I could get the hundos if my mind was right. Failed so many times trying. The day I finally got them for the first time I had worked my way up at an incremental pyramid and only wanted to get them one time. Once I got those suckers off my chest I repped them out for 10 and threw them down like I just won the world's strongest man comp.

All this to say(or as @zacharypaul89 would put it TL:DR)...I know the feeling and don't worry about anyone else. Enjoy it and use it to push yourself to get more.

I was squatting with my brother last night, who doesn't really lift, but wants to start. Like most beginners, he is working on his depth. The guys in the next rack over were making passive aggressive comments like "remember those kids that were in here earlier half and quarter squatting? Yeh what pussies! They don't even know what A to G is." Typical gym-timidation which turns a lot of people off from lifting.

Once my brother left I explained he was a beginner and they apologized and said they didn't mean to come off as dicks.

    They weren't even that strong…

Should have walked over while one was squatting and put an extra 45 on one side as he was going down

That's why you wear headphones . We don't have much gymtimidation here and honestly, I think the regulars would probably tell them to shut up.

    He's clearly on steroids

    people who beat their wives...

Hate that shit. You should've thrown out your Poké Ball and challenged him to a good ol fashioned squat-off

Same environment at ours. We have people who get hyped up and act crazy, but fortunately our owner is really strict about assholes in the gym. It's usually always some punks who don't even look like they lift, too
