I did a jump training program to increase my vertical for Volleyball. Here are my numbers for the 3 baseline tests at the beginning, middle, and end of the 8 weeks.

I'm more interested in how your squat jumped up 165lbs in 8 weeks

Your range of reps is always so big, are you increasing weight each set and therefore doing less reps with it? I have to pick a specific rep or I would get to the minimum and stop...

It's the only true way to get a calf pic obv...

It does say '3RM', but I would bet that first day wasn't a true max, no way you increase that much in 8 weeks. Also want to know how he measured that vertical. I feel like he's got some wizardry going on here if he added 4 inches in 8 weeks. People would pay good money for those gainz...

Hit a Saturday sesh for the 2nd straight week. I'm liking this going back to 6-day workout weeks. I left my shaker bottle in the gym yesterday so that was a smelly surprise waiting for me when i finally got it back. I ordered a new one last night though so I can change it up now. It was free with another broscience tank :anonymous:

One day for a shaker bottle isn't too bad...unless you leave it in the 100 degree car.

I left one of mine in a random compartment of my gym bag and forgot about it for over a week. When I realized it, I just threw it away. Didn't even open it. Straight to the trash

Does anyone besides me do this? I started doing it after there was some protein on the lid and t ended up falling directly into my eye. After that, I lick the lid after I shake it every time.

I ended up just cheering on Amy and the dog for the 5k. My legs were still sore from Wednesday's leg day...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Amy got 2nd overall with a 26 min 5k.

Yeah. If I do 6 reps, it's a lot more weight than if I were doing 15. I go until my last rep is that last possible one I can do without flailing around. If I plan on doing 10 reps and can do more, I keep going until I can't anymore. Basically, everything to failure.

I did that with my favorite TSN shaker and forgot about it for like 2 weeks. I bleached it, washed it, and everything in between and ended up having to throw it away.

Get outta here with that Dungeons and Dragons bullshit

    Every time.

4" in 8 weeks actually isn't that much, specifically for someone without jump training before. Same as newbie gains with lifting. Most people don't do any movements to help with a vertical leap. A jump program consists of stretching and loosening all parts of your legs including: hamstrings, quads, calves, achilles and groin and also loosening up your joints: knee, ankle and hips. A lot of people don't know how to properly stretch and warmup. That in itself will increase your vertical jump. It also consists of jumping technique. How to use your arms for momentum, how to use your core for stability and how to use your legs for explosion. Also and most importantly it consists of circuit training designed only for explosiveness. A vatiety of box jumps, side to side lateral jumps, long jumps, up hill 40 yards sprints, foot work, depth jumps, core work and explosive push-ups are just a few of the exercises. Everything is training for explosiveness and is done in day to day excession. For someone who has never done any of this or just hasn't trained it, it's a big wake up call to their body. Results vary from person to person obviously but 4" in 8 weeks is on the lower spectrum of potential

The program is called VolleyVert. The guy that created it advertises 2-10" increase in vertical. Highly gains if you've never done a jump program before. You're welcome to check out his site for more info.
