Always been active. But when I got in my late 30s got out of shape, chronic back and knee problems 40 pounds over weigh, borderline diabetic, high triglycerides, high chloresterol and my doctor wanted to put me on all kinds of meds and I said fuck that...

5 rounds of P90X and eating RIGHT, stopped drinking, and it become a complete lifestyle and I feel incredible.

I moutain bike, snowboard, out ride and board my 20 year old son, and have no body aches or pain.
Just occasional delayed onset muscle soreness from working out.

My Dr.s always blown away when he see me...

That's how my fishing days are. Granted, we bass fish out of a boat, so I'm able to pack more shit, but it's always junk food and like 2 feet of Subway subs (junk food to me is like Baked Lays, anything pickled, beef jerky, etc. I've never been into sweets or anything like that.....oh, and beer....lots and lots of beer)

I'd be like -9% bf if I could quit drinking on the weekends

Anybody ever been to Complete Nutrition (or other store) and done the Body Composition machine thing? I did it the other day and am just curious at the accuracy. Also got some new supps there I'd like some opinions on if somebody has tried them:

    -De-Cycle 7 Day Cleanse
-Shred Stack w/ Adrenalize and Omega Shred
    -Elite Gold Annex Protein
    -DR1 Test Booster

The machine said I was 18% body fat at 212 lbs. My goal is to get below 15% and below 200 lbs. They also gave me a diet plan. Opinions?

Sure I do, go ahead. I purchased it because I had coupons and they were on sale lol. Also, a friend of mine who had nearly the same body comp and goals did the same thing and went from 17% to 12% and 210 to 194lbs.

All you need is that protein, and any brand will do...

You will lose some water weight which will help both bring your weight down and BF%. The rest can only be done with hard work and dedication, there is nothing a store can sell you that is going to reach your goals...

I disagree to an extent. I put in the hard work and take care of myself, but some supplements are good assistants to the hard work. If it was all on hard work and dedication then why do you even take protein? Does hard work not spontaneously create protein for you?

I use protein powder to make up for the lack of protein in my regular diet.

The rest of the stuff at GNC/ect. is a gimmick...but I'm a firm believer that fitness is 50% mental so if that stuff helps get your mind right then it works, but I won't spend my money on it...

Oh heck, I think it's more like 90% mental haha. Like I said I only got it because it was on sale (half was free actually) and my friend showed me his results with it. I do believe most supplements are useless honestly, but some do assist. Like the cleanse is supposed to make me more receptive to my preworkout and protein that my body has somewhat just gotten used to, but I was curious if it's going to make me hit the bathroom like crazy. All proteins are not the same, I know that from experience, but I've never had the brand that came with the deal. Just wanting opinions on if anybody has taken any of the stuff, or done a cleanse.

99.99999999999999% of the crap for sale in store/bb.com/etc is pure crap. All you need is protein. The only reason people supplement protein is because it's easier to chug 50g of protein as opposed to eating a big plate of chicken, protein powder is cheaper per gram than ANY other source of protein, and it's more convenient to do when you're on the go.

As to your point with your friend: different people can get results by doing different things. For instance, most everyone I know chooses to lose weight by doing cardio, but it's completely unnecessary. Just because someone uses a supplement, doesn't mean the results came from that. Correlation doesn't equal causation.

Next, it's been proven time and time again that test boosters boost your test so insignificantly, there are basically no results to be had from it...same with BCAA's, amino acids, omega pills, ZMA, CLA, etc.

Lastly, any results can be had with 3 ingredients: 1. sleep, 2. lifting, & 3. diet.

There isn't 1 supplement out there that is absolutely necessary to get results. Hell, there isn't even a supplement out there that significantly improves results....they're called supplements because they supplement a shitty diet. Of course, when you see a tub of powder with Arnold on it, you're gonna think it works. The supplement industry is in business to do 1 thing: make money. Every pro in the industry does ads for these companies because they get a check for it...if you give me $10000 a month to say all my muscle is attributed to Scivation Xtend, I'm going to get a fucking tattoo of their logo on my forehead lol

I've taken many a supplement and had initial results but in the long use of it didn't see anything different. Just that initial change was 'mental' IMO. I also started getting nose bleeds using this one BCAA and that was the end of the line for me on supplements other than protein and a preworkout...

I've never tried a cleanse but would bet you spend a fair amount of time on the can
