You should do the opposite of what most people do then, go to the gym and always workout the legs as opposed to always working out the upper body lol!

That really is unfortunate my friend. Im sure it will all come back over time. It sounds like you are making good progress back though. And crap you are fast, sub 18min 3 mile is insane. I have never been able to run under 22mins. I feel so slow, especially after 3 Marines in my company ran sub 17 this weekend

I used to have pain in my collar bone and also discovered incline press (never tried it on a hammer strength) seemed to keep the pain away if done first

99% of the time before a work out I do rotator cuff exercises, I don't remember the names, but I do a couple.

It's weird however, because I can pick up the 50 dummbells while standing, and with a little help from my knees I can send them up above my shoulder to do these shoulder presses 5x with no problem.

lying on my back on the bench however is another story.

I keep my elbows close to my sides when benching, I don't flare them out like some people.

I will take your advice on the Hammer press (incline) and see how it works out.

Anybody else gonna do a tough mudder this year? Just signed up last week for one in Austin, TX in October. Definitely a motivator to get in even better shape.

The press on the hammer incline is great. But it only works if the each arm is independent. We don't have any at my gym so I either use the smith machine or the standard machine. And what Sean says about a rotator cuff warm up is spot on, do it first!

Minor strain in the right pec, Taking a week off of benching for sure!

Can I still do pull ups, chin ups, etc? Or not?

Also, I read that dead lifting in some case cause pecs to rip too, is that true? If so def avoiding that.

This may be a bit off topic, but I had started a thread yesterday in regards to different protein supplements and so forth. I was able to finally find a supplement that I can take daily, I never realized they made a whey protein that was "unflavored". Anyways, what is the recommended protein intake per day if I want to put on some "mass". I am currently 5'7", 140 pounds, would really like to get up to about 155lbs or so. Thus, how much protein should I be consuming per day to attain this goal??

Depends a lot on how much you lift. I wouldn't take more then two shakes a day purely due to cost. But I'm cheap.

I lift 3x a week. Probably will do 4x week soon tho. Money isnt the concern for me, as I have been the same size since high school and am really motivated to put on some weight

I would take no more then two on each day that you lift. Plus eat good foods like crazy. Eggs, Tuna, Chicken, etc. You know the drill.

The typical amount of protein intake per day is 1-1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Shakes are supplements, eat a lot of fish, chicken, eggs, and other such lean meats.
