Why don't you find a happy medium with your carbs? Just eat enough so you can have great workouts but not too much that the excess turns into fat (assuming you're in a surplus).

 

I have been trying 50-70 lately (which is pretty low IMO), and I have still been packing on the pounds. Any lower than that and I am basically doing keto anyways.

 

And how's that working out? And yes that's low lol.

Edit: Oops sorry you said you're still gaining. How many calories do you eat?

Anyone ever use Vitamin Shoppe's body Tech protein? That's a really good deal, but I'm not gonna buy it if it tastes like shit.

 

That's the only brand I use bc it's so cheap. Been using it for 5 years and I've tried all the flavors. The only one I couldn't stand was Strawberry Creme (I know, your favorite ON flavor). I don't know if it is just me or if it tasted awful or what. I know the vanilla, banana creme, and chocolate are all delicious though. Banana creme is my favorite but I usually rotate with the vanilla. The only reason I don't do chocolate is because it usually has more sugar than the others (I think only like 1g vs 0g, but I've got principles...)

Scoop is plenty big and it's got more servings than any other brand I've seen. Can't beat it for the price

Yw and yes it's very much worth it. I don't like strawberry or the cookies and cream. But I use vanilla as a base when I'm making something else. Like the pb and j I posted a few days ago.

 

Not just you on the strawberry it's bad. Like really bad. I put it next to spoiled milk for me.

 

Anyone try the stuff from Wal-Mart? Muscle Tech?

 

I use six star pre workout ($15) and wallyworld protein (body fortress). The protein isn't bad tasting and is pretty cheap. When you do the math it's better to just buy ON whey in bulk. The quality of protein is less than ideal. It'll give you protein farts like crazy. I am using it until another bogo 50% off happens for ON at bodybuilding.com

 

@JordanSmith127 (and anyone else who wants to chime in)...

As a trainer, where do you train? Do you rent space at a gym or are you employed by a gym? If you do not rent space, how much would you be willing to pay/month to have a place with equipment at your disposal? Would you rather have your own space that only you use or would you be OK sharing a space with other trainers who have their own clients also using that space/equipment?

I'm toying with some business ideas and need some outside perspective...

 

I bought the muscle tech stuff and its actually pretty tasty. I throw 2 scoops with some milk and doesn't taste bad at all. I'm going to see how this plans out until I have to buy more. It was free since work gives me a per diem. Why not try free proteins?

 

I'll be using space at the members gym of choice and just have a deal worked out with the gyms for a percentage based off of the training length.

 

Why am I always walking through a thick invisible wall of fart when I'm at the gym?
It so gross! I don't understand why people can't hold it in until they to the restroom!
It seems like almost every time I want to do cable flys, someone has to bomb it in that area right before I get there..

There's a sign as I walk in saying no talking on your cell phone, drink only water inside the gym, etc. I'm going to add a no farting picture up on it!
