Got me some new shoes this weekend. Nikes for working out and the JJ Watt shoes. Super comfy and stable. I'm really digging these.

New quick and easy breakfast for you meal preppers. You will need a sous vide device to heat and keep water temp. There are diy designs that use coolers online.

    2 eggs per jar
    Dash of milk
    Salt and pepper
additional toppings (cheese, ham, bacon, sausage, pepper, mushrooms, etc)

Coat jar with olive oil or butter. Mix/beat eggs and milk (scrambled eggs). Place toppings in bottom of each jar. Add egg to jar and then add salt and pepper.

Close lids hand tight so water doesn't leak in, submerge and cook for 90 minutes at 173 degrees.

This should seal your jars so the eggs will be good refrigerated in the jars over the week.

To reheat, remove egg and microwave for 30 second or until warm.

@Newlife I saw you had surgery on your AC joint a few months ago. How's the healing / rebuilding coming along?

Healing is done. I've been rebuilding. Stronger than before the incident on almost everything except bench and can't squat traditionally anymore. My arm won't back that far. Bench is at 275 so almost there. Deads are at 505 that I count.

Good to hear, congrats and thanks. I'm 4 months post surgery from a DC excision and bench is really lagging. Any tips you want to give me?

What happened to all the gif posts by @zacharypaul89? This thread used to be super active. Over the holidays, I unintentionally did a small bulk, so I've been living on the treadmill to get it to come off. I'm feeling like I've lost gains after trimming the shit out of my beard. :pout:2017 is off to a rough start.

Just keep at it and listen to your body. Use a spotter. Do a comfortable weight until you can get 10 back to back reps without really struggling Before you increase. If that's 135 then do 135x1x10. Then when you master that you give me 145x1x10 or until you can get ten.

If you trimmed your beard, I'm not sure why you're even in the gym anymore.

Did lower heavy day yesterday and front squatted 225 for 2 sets of 3. I've never gone that heavy on front squats before because I just started doing them about a year ago, so I really focused on form over ego lifting.

I also got 405 for 3 sets of 2 on deadlifts. I think my max is around 470, but the most I've gotten was 455 a few weeks ago. I know I could've gotten more though.

The crazy thing is, I'm experiencing these increases on a cut. I've always lost strength on a cut, but I'm only going up now. My bench has stagnated around 330, but everything else seems to be going up. My bench has always been my weak point.

I attribute these increases in strength while cutting on 2 things:

    1. eating more calories: last cut, I was eating around 2500 calories. This time I'm eating around 3300. The weight loss is slower, but it's still coming off.
    2. This Layne Norton workout I've been doing. It's 5 days broken down like so:

    Mon: off
Tue: heavy upper day (all 2-3 sets of 3-5)
Wed: heavy lower day (all 2-3 sets of 3-5)
    Thur: rest
Fri: back and shoulders hypertrophy day (all 2-3 sets of 8-12)
Sat: legs hypertrophy day (all 2-3 sets of 8-12))
Sun: chest and arms hypertrophy day (all 2-3 sets of 8-12)

Also, I've basically quit drinking (My wife had me a surprise party this past Friday for my b day, so I drank then, but other than that, I've been good) and I only cheat once every 2 weeks and it's only 1 meal.

    No

    Been busy with law school.

So I'm still in the very very very early stages of getting my personal training (which I will be referring to as fitness coaching) business off the ground but my neighbors have taken interest already. We all belong to the same gym so I'm able to go with them and 'help' them along (technically the gym does not allow trainers that aren't on staff). Last night I went with one of my neighbors and put him through a chest/tri workout and today I went with his wife and my other neighbor's wife for their first workout (they committed to a 3day and 5day program with me). They both have trips in 6weeks and they want to be 'bathing suit ready' o_O

Today I had them do 4 1/4 mile sprints each one faster than the last and in between each they did squats, lunges, or goblet squats. Everything was body weight today but 3 sets of 8 on all of it. I made sure they got to depth and made them pause at the bottom. They were waddling like penguins after. I made them eat ~20g carbs before and they both went home and had some sort of protein after (peanut butter on an apple I think).

This is going to be fun :militarypress:
