Just kidding. I don't do no pussy ass shrugs. They're for bitches. I also don't do bicep curls, triceps, or any other isolation movement. Multi-joint movement or nothin. Only way to get big, son.

started with that back in November, been primarily using the week 4 but modified it some because some exercises (i.e. barbell rows) bother my left shoulder from time to time. not really seeing any definition/toning, have seen some growth since I started but feels like I've plateaud on weight. I don't use pre-workouts but do use ON protein powder afterwards.

definitely open to trying new methods as the traditional ones such as basic curls can get a bit boring sometimes. Navy started paying for us to use the anytime fitness since we aren't near a base and they have a decent variety of equipment.

It's going to depend on your goals, and you will get a lot of opinions here, but I would try either Starting Strength, or Strong Lifts 5x5, or if you feel you're more "advanced" 5/3/1. I think they are great programs for any level of lifter. Some people here think they are too simple, or lack the above mentioned isolation movements required to "get big," but I guarantee you if you follow either of them and keep your diet on point, you will gain weight, and get bigger and stronger. After one of those programs, you could focus on leaning out, and you would see much better results in the areas of definition and toning based on the fact that there is more muscle to be shown now.

There are a lot of experienced lifters on here and we (assuming I fit into that group) all have our own preferences.

I was gonna bash you for only doing compound movements until I read your next post. In this race, there's more than one route to the finish line. I just so happen to like the one with compound and isolation movements. Best of both worlds, IMO.

I'd check your diet on top of checking programs. If you're eating crap and lifting you'll get crap results.

True dat. You can basically fuck around in the gym, but with a good diet, you'll still get results. The opposite is true, too, though: you can follow a pro program, but without proper fuel, you're not going to get results.

    You right brah.

90% of my workouts are compound lifts, but I like to throw in a curl or an extension here and there.
