I'm thankful every time I walk in and out of the gym because of just life in general never knowing the future. Idk about getting burnt out on something that you love and are passionate about.. but definitely agree keeping it fresh!

Doesn't matter if it's incline or decline 150s are heavy and hard to handle either way and each incline/ decline has it's own related challenges

Thanks for the correction... But that's actually what I meant to say. Decline that is.. Had a brain fart and it slipped past.

Yeah you never know, it's good to be thankful.

Well there's different ways somebody could get burned out.. I actually thought about my statement while at the gym.. And thought how I should've added to it.
By saying another way of burning out is.

When you love something like working out, to a point of literally running yourself down. Like physically, i.e. Adrenal fatigue or working out so much you drop your Testosterone levels. Or mentally, for instance earlier when I stated coming back from an injury, that in itself can be a heavy mental challenge (getting back to where you were and everything that involves etc)... That being said, the "weight" of it all can literally weight you down mentally to a point of, being mentally burned out, also there again effecting your physical.

What you love so much can bite you if you're not using knowledge to balance what you're doing out..

What I'm saying is coming from experience. And I'm sharing it with you all, in hopes that if something ever pops up. You don't allow it to drag you to a point you don't wanna be, that'd be giving up on something you love. I'm not saying that I have given up.. But it can happen.. Look at all these people that at once were literal "pros" and life happened, and what they once loved became a memory and now they're just a shell of what they "used to be".

Be wise. Look at the whole big picture, I'm not saying you're not. Just look at everyday in a way knowing how that days decision can play a role in tomorrow, without letting tomorrow override today.

    That being said..

I know there's a whole lot of BS'ing in here. And I've been a little part, what little I do post in here..

But I'm curious as to, what beyond gaining muscle and strength you all have dove into, "being physically fit".. For example for the most part, building muscle etc. Is for the most part the main topic here..

What about outside of that specific arena have you all looked into.?
    Example,
Like knowledge on things that are toxic, where it comes from. How to detox etc.
Things that are often overlooked, like deficiencies etc. How to correct etc..

BC all this plays a role in strength and over all well being.
If everyones goal is being fit/strong etc.. It's important to know these things.

    Anybody?

    Not to down play 150's.
But if you've properly worked your way up to the weight, IMO you should be able to control it how you want. In whatever you're doing (if you're doing it right). And if you can't control it, maybe re approach what you're doing and build up to it right, so you don't hurt yourself, seriously.

I focus on my nutrition to the point of it being obsessive, but it's fun for me. Calculating micros and macros and adding and subtracting things in...it's like a puzzle and I love it. I do it to my diet almost daily and I do my wife's every now and then just because I like doing it.

As far as lifting goes, I'm more of a K.I.S.S. mindset: I don't believe all these bullshit articles that come out daily on bb.com and all the fitness magazines and (worst of all) the "programs" the pros try to sell you. If you just show up and lift correctly, you'll see results. I do change things up a bit when I get bored though: I alternate upper/lower splits with body part splits, I vary rep ranges, etc., but I don't buy into all the hype of "5 EXERCISES YOU MUST DO FOR BIG BICEPS"...just do the workouts and you'll get results (not taking into consideration diet and other factors).

Last thing I focus a lot on is form...I see people every time I'm in the gym trying to push big weight to impress others, but their form is shit. I love to chase big numbers, too, but there's no point in doing it if you're doing it wrong. Squat to parallel, don't kip when you do pullups, and don't round your back on deadlifts. There are a lot of people out there that need to take some weight off the bar and do the exercises correctly. Just the other day this scrawny kids was curling 55 lb dumbbells with shitty form. I was also doing biceps, but with 30 lb dumbbells, but I was doing them right and my arms are 2 times the size of his. I just don't get that shit. But, I never say shit to anyone because if they hurt themselves, that's one less person in my way when I'm working out.

Lately, I've been focusing more on cardio solely for heart health. I've slowly been incorporating a little bit of cardio after my weightlifting sessions.

Exactly. If you can't keep the weight from smashing together at the top of the lift or properly balance yourself on the bench, go down in weight...it's not going to make your dick any bigger by half-repping 125's.

Not to sound like a broken record (insert dj scratching gif) but from 16.5 years old to present day 39 yrs old..life has happened and quite a bit! Thank God I have never missed more than 5 consecutive days. Traveling, working 12 hr construction shifts, family and friend deaths, marriage, baby, pregnant wife, and all the rest of life didn't halt the necessary sanity check the glorious house of gains can bring. I live in a town with a destination Jr college and state university and have seen a lot of people come and go in the gym..as shit talk came up the grand finally would always be, let's see where your at in 5 years. The majority don't continue on with training. I know what your saying and not trying to argue. It is a badge of honor to continue on and not have an excuse to not go.

Only because I had to pull 500 to impress my Instagram friends, asshole.

Traps are still glorious. Wanna oil them down for me?

But yeah, I've started just doing 15 mins on the elliptical after each workout so far...gonna bump it up to 30 mins when I no longer feel like I'm gonna hack up a lung. I started watching TWD while I do it, so time goes by fast.

I normally do cardio for 20-30 as well about 3-4 times a week after workouts, but haven't lately due to a back injury. Going to go light today and see how it goes.
