I like to because I'm impatient. The end result will be the same (if you even notice any changes at all). A lot of people expect creatine to be like test-e, but it's not. I never notice when on or off, so I don't really use it anymore.

I have heard so many mixed perspectives on this, some people tend to say they see day and night changes on it and others say it has no impact. Im curious to see what my results will be, if any, as I have never toyed with it

No harm in loading up. Never hurts to start adding a scoop or two into your regular pre workout/post workout drinks or shakes. Its not going to make you look like Jay Cutler in 2 weeks but if anything it will help enhance your body's capacity to perform high intensity workouts and strengthen your muscle contractions. Just take creatine powder, I prefer the micronized version as it blends better with most other supps. Its also pretty cheap.

Seems very much so hit or miss. Whats this I hear about retaining extra water weight while your on it? Potentially that might lead to the placebo affect of thinking a person is making huge gains

That's what I think. One camp says the water-retention is inside your muscles, so it leads to extra pump, which leads to extra reps, which leads to more gainz. Another camp says it makes you retain water in your muscles, as well as under your skin, making you look bloated. I never noticed a change at all when taking it: no change in "pump", reps, bloatedness, etc. However, it is cheap as hell, so to be safe, I've taken it in the past and will probably do so again to get rid of what creatine I have left around the house.

Because creatine is a naturally occurring amino acid it could cause your body to retain water as water enters the muscles along with the supplemented creatine. Retaining water may increase the size of the muscles and overall muscle mass. I have heard people say its bad because water retention could cause dehydration because as the muscles absorb the water, your body has less fluid to use elsewhere, such as regulating body temperature through your sweat etc. This should be of zero concern because as someone who is working out water consumption should be a top priority. Some people retain more water then others, some retain at first then it goes away. This is a rabbit hole of information and it will effect everyone different. Only way to know is to try it and see. There no long term negative effects so why not right?

I usually gain/lose 3-5 lbs within the first couple of weeks of using/stopping it. I've always attributed that to water weight.

Any change to your performance in the gym that you can attribute to it?

Not really. I continue to use it because it's cheap. If it's helping, cool. If not, whatever. No big loss.

If you want to gain,...right now I wouldn't worry about any other supplement besides protein! Like a lot of these folks mentioning food, food, and more food...! You want to get big you have to eat big. And when you're that tall and light.. when you think you're eating big, eat more! I'm a hard gainer and know from experience. Eat big and lift consistently. Give that 6 months straight then decide if you want to try creatine...Food and a proper workout plan will work wonders. :muscleflexing: My 2 cents.. you're on the right track!!:curls:

Might give this a try in a few weeks. Just started the 5x5 lifts. Gonna give it a go for a few weeks and see how it works out. The one you linked looks pretty good too

I just got off an eight month span of bulking, 4500 calories a day, 320g of protein, 470g carbs, 155g fat. My BMR is roughly 2,000 calories per day. Worked out 5 days a week and I found at the end of it that I was gaining mass but was gathering a lot of fat in my face region. I don't think I calculated my bulking plan all that well so something has to change this next time around

I've used mono creatine in the past because it was cheap, but my brother told me about Beast Creature creatine. I like the mixibility and the flavors of the Beast but I switched back to mono b/c of how cheap it is. Over the past couple of days I've read and researched Creatine HCL. Have any of you tried it or think its more beneficial than mono? I read that you don't have to take as much and it digest better.
