Well good on your for making progress. I have looked into intermittent fasting in the past but it was just too difficult to work with my lifestyle.

Yea 5'8 150 isn't bad. That's about where I'm at right now. But...it's about time to start bulking back up.

Oh man... for me intermittent fasting is the easiest thing I've done. I have an 8 hour window to eat each day. It can vary to some degree, but I know that after my last meal of the day, I'm waiting 16 hours until my first meal the next day. Not much calorie counting involved, I just try to eat decent and not over indulge. I don't actually count calories, just guesstimate to the best of my ability.

Here is a comparison of where I was at the beginning of the year, to now at 149lbs. As I mentioned, my goal now is to change body composition to get rid of the belly and build some lean mass.

Pardon the face I'm making. I was reluctant to take the photo because I was starting to document progress with a couple people and didn't want to share it.

I did if when I lost a majority of my weight but now that I actively lift and am more focused on size than weight there's no way I could eat everything I eat in a day in a small window. I'm like coach every 2-3 hours and even then I I'm still often hungry throughout the day. Last night was the first time I've been full in a while.

If you aren't counting your calories/macros you 100% aren't getting the benefit of what you are trying to accomplish. I have never once been able to eat to goal by just winging it and assuming I am eating enough. If you're going to commit to making a change don't half ass it

I remember when I tried intuitive eating.... Man was I way off on what I thought my Macros are. @ThunderCookies said your progress will be limited by how good your diet is.

It's funny how some people can eat 5-6 meals a day and feel nice and energized and others get more sluggish.

I did the drip feeding (that's just what it reminds me of, like a drip system in a garden) but i didn't get the results I was looking for and kept feeling tired. Now I feel better and more energized by being in a fasted state for a while before eating. It just goes to show that everyone is different and there is no blanket program for everyone.

But either way, now it is time to put on some more size and burn some more fat while doing it. I'll still be doing the intermittent fasting, but increasing my calorie intake and focusing on strength training.

Well I think your basing this off of the idea that these meals are large portion meals (likely the style you eat in since you have a small eating window). I tend to eat 6 meals a day and they all are relatively small but always have protein, carbs and some veggies.

Think of it like this, the whole 5-6 meals a day thing is not new. Old school bodybuilders worked with this technique as it provides you with energy throughout the day and never at one point fills your stomach entirely. Since bodybuilding is greatly about the aesthetics of building your body (aswell as gaining strength of course), bodybuilders want their figure to be slender and not bloated from being full at all times.

EDIT: of course most of us aren't competing and are just searching for personal results, its just the training/eating methods I prefer

What is your plan of attack for that exactly??? Caloric intake etc??? Judging by your before pic you don't appear to be a hard gainer so I'm curious what you're considering as eat more.

    Couldn't agree more.

I currently eat 8 times a day and that works for me.

I get up at 5:00 am every single morning mon-Saturday and I sleep until 7 on sundays.

    Meal 1
    Oats and eggs

    Meal 2
    Chicken rice and broccoli

    Meal 3
    Turkey rice and broccoli

    Meal 4
Salmon / tilapia rice and broccoli

    Meal 5 pre workout
    Steak and sweet potato

    Meal 6 post
    Post work out shake

    Meal 7 post workout
    Chicken and rice

    Meal 8
    Cottage cheese and fruit

My two biggest meals are before and after training then smaller meals throughout the day.
