Ok guys, I would like some advices (as Arnold would say).

I am thinking about using creatine for the first time ever

Do you have any general advice, comments, or experiences with this stuff?

I plan on getting a powder form to mix with my BCAAs which I consume while lifting (4-days per week). Looking for something to help me push a little more on my hard sets and really help with recovery. My goals are strength and mass related but I'm a powerlifter not a bodybuilder.

Basically I'm looking for something that will prevent me from man crying during squats and deadlifts. But then again I'm doing Jim Wendler's boring but big challenge and I'm pretty sure if you aren't crying you aren't doing it right. ;)

Creatine is an anytime supp you douche. It's in some pre workouts but you don't have to limit it to just pre's.

Curious as to why you're choosing creatine for that extra umph. What are you wanting it to do? Energy, endurance, strength?

I want to increase muscle mass and strength. I'm currently doing very well on Jim Wendler's plans. On some lifts I'm lifting more than I ever have before. I don't over train but I do bust my ass. Wondering is creatine would help me get more for my efforts and help with recovery. I do have a thyroid autoimmune disease that many times kicks my ass after tough training weeks. One good leg session and I'm useless in terms of energy the rest of the day.

I feel like I'm getting into uncharted waters with strength here. Never felt the need to use anything, now I'm considering some extra supplementation, weight belts, proper squat shoes etc.

So extra umph really means maybe being able to push myself a couple more reps and give me better recovery.

Creatine should help with that. Take extra doses the first week (if you're into 'loading' it, otherwise, don't), then just take the normal dose after that.
All creatine does is help you make ATP (which your muscles use for energy) , so you won't really 'feel it'. But if you track your workouts closely, you may notice a few more reps here and there, or just an overall slightly better focus/energy while lifting. That's where the growth comes from - the extra reps and energy in the gym, not the creatine itself.

Your people!? Just what is that supposed to mean!? Hahaha just kidding.
But seriously, I don't 'lol' at over-training. That's how you get burnt out, injured, etc. People get so hung up on hitting the gym 'hard AF' that they forget the other two equally important aspects of being fit: diet and recovery. If you just have the uncontrollable itch to go to the gym on your off days, or go twice a day or something, then just work on mobility, flexibility, or some light cardio. Go for a leisurely hike or bike ride or something. Or get some damn sleep! Sleep is amazing.
