My goal is just to keep at it. Every time I complete that run, I feel I am that much closer to the level of fitness that I desire. My running mate is a Border Collie named Duke. He likes running, but prefers to work under a horse working cattle or sheep.

    Waiting for the command

I'd just go to www.bodybuilding.com and do your research there. There's a LOT of beginners on that site, so you won't feel intimidated to ask questions. Lots of pro's too, that can help you out.

I've read a lot of BAD BAD BAD info in this thread, lots of misguided suggestions, and false claims. I would get the right info. from the right source. Just my opinion...

I've been bodybuilding for 13 years now, and if I could do it all over again, I'd listen to the right people in my younger years. I decided to do things my own way, and to take advice from others in my gym. Not that they had bad intentions, but their information wasn't always the best... And my gains suffered.

Live and learn... Now I do things properly, eat properly, and at 32 years of age, I'm in the best condition ever. Do it right, or don't do it at all...

Well, started a new workout today... Today was a leg day.

    Freehand Jump Squat
    Wide Stance BB Squat
    Narrow Stance Leg Press
    Leg Extensions
    Romanian Deadlift
    Lying Leg Curls
    Calf Press
    Standing Calf Raise

Had a bout of nausea to deal with about 1/2 way through my deadlifts. Pushed through it and this was a beastly workout. Tomorrow's gonna hurt.

I've been a member of that site for 3 years. There's a TON of broscience that goes around there. A lot of the people there that give advice are running PH cycles or actual gear, so you can't take their advice to heart because when you're running gear you can recover so fucking quick it's unreal.
Whatever you decide to do, do it because YOU believe it's right, not because someone else says it works and he looks good so it must work for you too. Use logic.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but body building and working out now a days are two completely different things. Today working out is more main stream and advertised to make money. I'm not saying going to the gym is dumb cause I do workout myself. But body building is waaay different. Just wanted to throw that in there.

Edit: If you're into bodybuilding you should check these out.

LOL! I dont know about that....

Anyway, to stay on ...*cough*...topic, My work out consists of walking the dogs, bike riding, swimming, and fixing all the crap I have on my "Fix it list". Might not seem like much, but on this list, as an example, was digging an irrigation trench 75 feet thru solid granite. I used a jack hammer. Another thing on the list was adding 50 feet of side walk to a friends house....and mixing the concrete by hand.

Hell, my goal was a workout and I couldn't even get myself to run. Nice mellow jog got the heart rate as high as it needed to be. :p

Awesome book. I couldn't put it down when I got it, but just skipped through the womens bodybuilding part. Some pretty good info in it.
Pumping Iron is an awesome movie lol. My favorite part is when Arnie and Eddie are squatting. Ed just about busts a nut getting this last rep, and Arnold says "3 more! Let's get serious!" Good stuff.

Haha I know, telling him to get serious when he's already putting up more than most people. It's funny too when arnold is messing with Lou when they pumping up before the show and he's just watching him and telling him he needs to work out quietly. Shut is classic.
