Agreed. 160 is too small. Where I am right now (even after the water is gone) is too fluffy. I don’t feel good fluffy. I want to have a good clean (lean) base to build off of. When I get back to that BF this time I’m going to be smart about adding the weight back.

I was not in a good place at 160. I was haaaaangry and getting pretty weak. Then I spent several months loosely tracking and then the last two months of doing whatever. I want to be that lean but about 15lbs heavier.

I did not. I'm sure I am in the lower percentile of rowers around the world lol. I have the app but I always forget to open it during my rows. I just use the computer on it. Would be nice to know how much I've rowed vs how much my girlfriends rowed though

Yeah no. I’m in love with my new nail gun.

    65F is way too low.
120g is actually better for your weight.
Your body cannot remain satient or produce hormones effectively. Low fat diets can starve your thyroid.
Fat is a critical part of your diet.

Good luck with the 20lb weight loss goal!

What is everyone’s appeal to rowers?
I personally don’t feel I get a good workout on them.

I fuckin love rowers. Maybe you're not doin it right / hard enough to feel a workout? I don't know. I love them because they're such a low impact on the body. I enjoy rowing for a cardio workout, whereas I absofuckinlutely hate running. Swimming is great, but I don't have a pool to do it in and I don't want to swim in the ocean every day. Biking is ok, but biking is just lower body. Rowing helps my surfing muscles as well so there's another added bonus.

I row occasionally not that I don't think it's good, it's just not the best feeling on my back.

That was a typo. Meant to be 75, but I don’t know...

I’ve never tried to run on high fat and low low low carbs because my body loves carbs. My gym performance goes to shit without them.

To offset the added 50g fats you’re suggesting, is have to cut 115g carbs out to stay at the same caloric intake. I don’t see How I could function on that few

You’re right about satiety. I was running on 50g at the in the pic from Jan. Hangry.

I was the same way when I started... then I had someone tell me I was in the wrong positions and I watched some videos on form and now I have no issues what so ever

@PackCon what does your high fat diet look like? Macros? I assume a lot of fat from your meats/eggs/dairy plus veggies for low carb filler.

I’ve only tried them at my gym and it just seems like the resistance doesn’t get high enough.

    I love running! :D
I HATE biking, fuck dat shit. And I think its funny with my meniscus I can’t do exercises with exaggerated knee flexion so no biking, probably no rowing, and no swimming. Those hurt... but running is painless haha.
    Its backwards

You could probably lower the protein instead of just take cals from carbs. Looking at the difference between your pictures it looks like 160lbs is really where the majority of your lean mass sits so you could go to 160g of P and still be at a solid 1g per lb of body weight.
Not that, that gives you a ton of wiggle room but it helps.

    I do 175P+/100F+/100(net)C

Yes I do my best to eat primarily all whole foods. Meat, dairy, and eggs being the bulk. A lot of veggies and some fruit.
I try to limit my carbs to one meal and its rice and potatoes post workout.

And I wouldn’t say my diet is high fat. 0.7g of fat per pound of body weight is a good fat minimum.

I crash if my fat gets too low. My thyroid just burns out.

I just did my macros on fitness pal for the first time in a long time. Way slacking with the fats. Buying whole eggs, avocados, yogurt and nuts right meow

I'll take a look but mine is most likely just from having a bad back (prior surgery and degenerative disc disease and being old).

The harder/stronger you pull, the more resistance you get out of it. I'm not making any assumptions because I've obviously never seen you try, but it takes time to get it all down right. Once you do, then you'll actually feel a good workout. I've found intervals to be a good starting point. (I'm confident I don't need to explain interval training to you). The first time I did this, I was fuckin beat. I did 1k meters with a 1 min "rest" of just light rowing. I was dead after. You gotta actually row for at least a good 20 mins to really feel anything IMO. Either way, I love it because if I can't lift weights for the day, a good row sesh gets a fairly full body workout too.

It’s surprising that your knee doesn’t hurt after running... my wife has knee problems and even though she loves running she knows she can’t run more then a mile before she has pain but she loves rowing also and can row for at least an hour straight (I have seen it while I was working out)

It’s just hard for me to eat fatty foods because I guess I just don’t enjoy em that much. I get plenty of protein and carbs in easily but my fats.... they struggle unless I eat a chocolate bar lol

I use to use rowing as an “active recovery”
