How do you guys feel about following up your leg routine with a light paced (5-6MPH) run on the treadmill for 30 minutes? I did it today and my legs feel awesome.

it's a great way to prevent severe lactic acid build up (one of the things that contributes to soreness)

Considering every night is different for me at work, I am not sure how hard to work my legs. Some nights my patrols are like 45 minutes every hour. I end up walking around 4 miles give or take those nights during my 8 hour shift. So, completly destroying my legs is not an option bro.

Right now I am trying to tone up, so I am trying to do much more cardio:eek:

    Thanks Sean.

How much cardio a week do you guys feel is enough to lose fat?

    Dude...lol train themenapy8er_c9a23b28de06febfd1734d921700200bf89a3260.jpg hard!

Diet first...cardio will help...LISS taps the fat reserves...not sure of your stats but I would start off 4x30min+..depending how much u need to lose.

I do diet, I wiegh as of this morning 218lbs, I am 6 foot. I can see my abs ( not like yours though) My incline bench is at 225lbs, My overhand barbell row is at 225. All my sets are 8 reps x 4 sets plus 1 warm up set each exercise. My dumbell curls are at 50lbs each arm. Everytime I am in the gym I try and mix it up alot to confuse my muscles. I get really strong, but have trouble with actually "building" . What do you think my issue is?

No offense...but how much u can lift doesn't mean much...I find it more important to focus on the mind muscle connection where u can FEEL the weight....

-do you know what you're taking in? Macro wise? Carbs/fats/pro?

I did fasted cardio today. First thing I did when I woke up was run with a friend. But the whole time we were debating fasted vs. cardio after a breakfast.

He tried telling me that I was loosing muscle mass due to catabolic state.

I was trying to tell him that the body would go to stored fat as a means of energy way before it would start eating muscle.

Do you guys have any good readings that I can show this guy?

I do fasted cardio or post weights (glycogen levels are depleted so there isn't a difference)
As long as you're consistent then it shouldn't matter too much...

No offense taken. I always lift so I can feel the wieght. I also always concentrate on my form more than the wieght. I mostly concentrate on my protien. 1 gram per pound is my usual. I am taking no preworkout (exept ON Builders Protein) . Fat is low, The only fat I take in usually is i the form of the avocados i eat (exept the fat in my protien obviosly). Actually to answer your question, I do not know my exact numbers fat numbers (although they are much lower than anything else) and I do watch my carbs, but not scientifically

I train legs hard as fuck every day I train them. It hurts when I sit in the patrol car for hours and then have to get out, but I need my legs to be strong to run after then kick and fight a mutha fucka.

Mind/Muscle concentration is key, very key. Lower the weights and concentrate on that squeeze and contraction.

That was a great article. Thank you. I know how to gain weight, I have just been trying to get leaner for the longest time. I went from 185 pre Iraq to 240lbs when I returned. I got out the army and stopped working out twice a day, to working out not at all for a year. Since I began working out again about 5 monthes ago, I have lost about 30lbs, but have retained most of my muscle and increased my strength.

Here is another question for you. How do you feel about yogurt? Specifaclly high protien greek?
