Top flight elite tier, most likely equipped and definitely juiced! Not gonna find too many of them around. And if you do they often can't squat or deadlift equally because they dedicate themselves to the bench. lol

Not quite - the 82-83kg class best lifters are benching around 400 but they can squat and deadlift 700+ some of them way over. It’s just a matter of being natty or not, which is impossible to tell. Even in “tested” events only the top finishers are tested (post comp) and even then its spotty. And you can also just run cycles during off seasons, bulk up, get strong, then cycle off long enough to piss clean come test day and not lose much strength

It also comes down to preparation on game day - I placed third in my 2nd meet because the guy who should’ve won the whole thing bombed out on his squats (first event) because he went max effort on his 1st (of 3) attempts and never put a squat on the board. My 1st lift is always conservative, a weight I know I can hit, and acts as a final warm up. This way I definitely put something on the board and won’t bomb out of the meet...

You can also get lucky and not a lot of people end up in your weight class. Unfortunately 83kg is one of the more popular ones. I got lucky in my first meet that my age (30) was considered “open” and all the other folks in my class were younger and in their own “jr” class. I only had 1 other guy in my “open” class so we just went head to head the whole day (I won).

I won a 10k race once by default.

I was planning on just doing the 5k, but I was getting my ass dusted by the competition at the 5k mark, so I just kept running. Ended up being the only 25-30 year old to run the 10k. Haha

    I’ll kill that.

still trying to drop 7-8lbs so dinner was a casein shake with a couple scoops of yogurt, dash of milk and a spoonful of oats.

Discovering that I need a blender for shakes though lol
