    What did your reps, sets and weights look like? 20-25 sets and 50 reps?
    50, 40, 30, 20 etc??? 20 sets like that?

    Muscle confusion? Sound like Toni Horton from p90x.......I would say your muscles are used to a certain stimuli and then the higher reps work more/different fibers and higher reps also increase blood flow which is the pump. I think its a good idea to work in the various rep ranges to work all energy pathways of the muscle with lactate 8-15 range building hypertrophy the best.

    Warm up
    Machine press 3x50 @ 100 lbs
    Incline bench 3x35 135lbs
    Incline dumbbell 3x20 @ 160lbs (80 lb each)
    Hammer strength incline press 4x 12@ 270lbs
    Flat bench 3x 5-8 @ 315lbs
    Decline beach 3x 12 @225lbs
    Dips- 3xbody weight til failure (15-20ish)
    Incline flys 3x 20 @60lbs (30lbs each dumbbell)
    Push ups til failure x2 35-50 each set

    This is an example. It varies. But this would be one of my best chest days ever.. Not the norm

    Muscle confusion...more like diet confusion. Muscles don't become dependent and store stuff, the body does. So, try intermittent fasting, over eat for 12 days, under for 6, then over eat again for 12. During the 6 days under eating, the body realizes its not getting what it used to so when you over eat again, you'll notice gains.

    The keys to gaining mass are simple, more sets, more weight, less rest. You can do low weight, high reps and your muscles will just get a good pump, but it won't be the hard muscle you want. It will be a cellular fluid enlargement in the muscle tissue and you won't get stronger.

    On the other hand, training with heavy weights, not muscle confusion, stimulates growth in the muscle fibers, creating size and muscle strength.

    It is good to add a week of lower weight, higher rep training into your mass training about once every 3-4 weeks for a type of rest time, and then start back up with the heavy shit.

    I am on a 10x6 program, lifting on heavy weeks about 70% of my one rep max. I have seen excellent results from using the same exercises and have increased my weights lifted.
