I was not able recover too 100%, which is the unfortunate reality of any water cut, but it has been enough to win my division. I like drinking pedialyte regardless of whether i water cut or not just because I tend to forget to drink enough during competition with all the shit going on. But definitely don’t do anything new on game day.

I got a good dry weight this morning and I’m at 306.4, 6.2 lbs less than what I weighed 3 days ago post meals and workout.
I’m going to weigh tonight to get an idea of wet vs dry weight.

Don’t get consumed by worrying with the scale. Weigh yourself first thing in the morning after you pee. Don’t pay any attention to daily fluctuations, only the trends you see over the whole week.

I agree. Stay off the scale more than once a week.
Weigh yourself the same day each week, at the same time, under the same conditions.

There is no helpful information in weighing yourself constantly.

Pay attention to how you feel.

I weigh myself like 2x per month...

Take pictures of yourself to compare over time. That will show you better results than a number.

I would do what the others say, but to refuel fast order some NOW sports waxy maize (carb powder) off Amazon and down a scoop of that with water right after weighing in. I like to mix two scoops of that and a big scoop of pre-workout in a giant cup and sip on it throughout my comps.

Will do, I’ll weigh every Friday morning because it should be a consistent time for me.
I have to say, other than being a little hungry when I woke up this morning I felt really good.

Pictures are a good idea, thanks

Depends on who you ask, either 6’2” or 6’3”.

Just don’t take as many pics of yourself as this guy does. I bet if you looked through his phone, it’s 10 selfies, A dick pic (maybe his...maybe not...), 10 selfies, maybe his dog, 10 selfies...etc etc.

    Good!

I took 4 days off keto and IF.
Started keto back yesterday, IF back today.
Gad damn, carbs really F you up. Yesterday all I wanted to do was eat eat eat. I wasn’t even hungry I just wanted to stuff my face and I was struggling with energy.

Today is better but hungry (1 more hour to fast). I’m hoping everything is back to normal by Saturday. I have less energy being off IF.

Depends on what I'm aiming for, if I'm just trying to shed weight I weigh every day in the AM as you said. It works for me, just tells me if I don't like the number I have to be more conscious of what I do that day

You realize fat gain doesn’t happen that fast right?

Just because you have more water retention today doesn’t mean it needs to impact your diet or exercise habits.
That creates a mindset that can lead to disordered eating.

I broke my keto this week. I did not weigh myself today like I do most Fridays. My water retention is going to be way up, no point in knowing exactly how much. It also shouldn’t mean I should starve myself to compensate for 5-10lbs of water gain over the next days.
I’ll just weigh in next Friday.

Yup..I'm pretty good about sticking to a meal plan but sometimes I slack, so if I did that and see the consequences the next day it reminds me. Agreed you shouldn't starve yourself of course..

But you will not be able to see the consequences of a meal in 24 hours in regards to fat gain.

Fat gain takes consistent over eating to occur. You are only measuring water weight changes, which can happen for dozens of reasons (some of them good).

The reward/punishment mindset of eating isn’t a healthy pattern to get into.

You are telling me I should have gotten on the scale this morning to make me mentally suffer for enjoying my business trip.

I prefer to just move on with my life and have no hard feelings what so ever.

Weight isn’t gained in a day. Poor health doesn’t happen in a day.
Resolutions to those problems don’t happen in a day. They happen over a period of time. Focus on the holistic view of life not individual moments.
Get rid of anything that is going to hurt your motivation and progress moving forward.

Short term, increase my run distance and decrease my minute/mile as well as do push-ups.
Mid term, weigh 180-190 (coast guard regulations) and easily pass USCG PT.
Long term, be able to fight on the ground for longer than 45 seconds-1 minute without being gassed and stay overall healthy/fit.

They have a height/weight chart, if you’re over the weight for height then they have a BF% limit of 22% for males.
For 74” I have to be under 206 or 22%.
