Made rice for the first time in probably ever lol. It’s a little thicccc so I fucked up somewhere but it’s not hard. It’s like a soup. Which oddly made it easy to eat lmao. Along with some baked greens and chicken. Getting them gains and feeling stronger.

You’re gonna be more angled with low bar than you are with high bar. When i first started it, I actually hurt my shoulder squatting. I guess i was too upright and had too much weight resting on my hands instead of my back/shoulders.

That’s actually probably my problem then. Good to know.

Don’t get too carried away. I’m not insanely angled or anything. Just enough to keep the weight where it belongs and off my wrists/arms.

Yeah, get a quality rice first of all. Jasmine (often "scented jasmine" or whatever) is good. Others too. Fry up some garlic (real stuff) in oil, I prefer olive oil for extra flavor. Don't skimp too much. It really won't kill you.

Fry lightly, garlic burns FAST! add your dry rice to this and stir fry for a minute or 5. Nowadays I rarely give it more than a minute, doesn't seem to matter. Add water and salt, cover and bring to a boil, then lower temp to fairly low (high side of low or very lowest end of medium on most electric stoves, approx. Experiment). You want a very gentle boil. It takes roughly 16 minutes, but you kinda have to watch it and you're done once the water is gone (check, but as few times as possible).

I like to let it sit for a few minutes, but I kinda do whatever is happening. Often I'm wrapping up something else at this point. Let it sit with the lid on. Also, this absolutely does not work if the lid is not on while cooking. I use a timer to help me not forget.

Sorry if this is too detailed. Some want to know more, others need the bare basics and know their way around. Lastly, do something like this in an instant pot with a few chicken legs/thighs or similar, though stir fry the chicken for 5 mins or whatever first, with onions and garlic, salt, then add rice and water (brown rice works very nicely here) and pressure cook for 24 mins.... Surprisingly tasty for a daily meal! Reheats well.

Edit: Wait, 24 mins (with chicken) is for brown rice. White is 12-15 mins, though you need about 20-22 for the chicken to be well done, so figure that out. I just do brown. It tastes great made this way.

I use a rice maker. Just set and forget.
I haven’t made rice on my stovetop in years.

I put mine on stovetop, Add my tomato bullion flavor to the water/rice, bring to boil with the lid and then put it on low for about 20 minutes. Jasmine or Sushi rice.

You can get a killer workout with little to no equipment. Although you’ll want at least bands for his program.
