gaining about .5lb to 1lb a week, it’s working okay.

but yes, 100% out kicked my coverage. Together we’re an 8/10, but alone she’s a 10/10.

I‘m a little biased on this one, I’ll admit.

@ThunderCookies @dwalden2 @tacopaulo have all seen her and can probably give an un-biased opinion.

I am extremely thankful that my wife has supported my 3x/week gym habit that happens after work on MWF. I get home, get my protein ready and dive right in to helping her with dinner, and do all the dishes graciously because she could treat me like that and doesnt. She will treat me like that if I blow a few hours on the xbox, when I have other things I should be doing, but not when I am spending time bettering myself at the gym. She appreciates that I have found something healthy that I am enjoying and sticking with and the side effects of being in shape (read added confidence) appeal to her as well.

Sometimes finding and determining the proper plan that you WANT to start is the hardest part. There are so many plans out there and so many opinions on what is best for you and will yield the "fastest results" and it can be hard to determine what to do and what will be best for your mind and body. I gravitated to stronglifts because i found it on here but it also made sense to me (barbell lifts, whole body activation and coordination, etc.) and I am not averse to weights and some women are (I have ideas on why this is but I think thats a different topic).

I think that is true, although a little harsh, see above about determining the best plan for HER that she wants. wanting to workout is not a SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time based) goal. I honestly think you guys being like "what are your goals?" was huge and my focus snapped into place when I did some soul searching about what I wanted to be achieve. And when I wrote them down they became more powerful for me, YMMV.

The aversion to being uncomfortable is real. I get anxious when doing new things, going new places, and having new experiences. My brain over thinks them: "is this right?" "do i look stupid?" "what if i screw up?" "what if I dont know what to do?", i have to WORK to turn my brain off and just go for things because if i listened to the doubt and anxiety I would be paralyzed. So that shit is real. but I fight to do new things and everytime a do a new thing or make a quicker decision about a new thing, it gets easier.

woof to the $85/month autobill for the yoga studio. I tend to wait to sign up for that stuff, until I can prove to myself that its something that I want enough to commit to. Ex. my wife and I discussed buying better equipment to do triathlons (tri-suits, tri-bikes, etc.) and we landed on a goal of 3x triathlons in a 12 month period and we would buy better gear. We have only hit 2x in a calendar year and therefore we are still competing on our beater bikes. I want to feel committed to something before I shell out the cash on it. There are like a billion yoga videos on youtube and I was doing morning yoga just casting the videos to my TV fo FREE. Told myself I wanted to stick with that for a month before i bought a mat (I was using a towel), and I only stuck with it for two weeks and therefore did NOT buy a mat. Idk, ymmv. its your relationship and your bank account.

Agreed also let them know they may not be as strong as they were the last time they were working out and that it is fine to start LOW and SLOW (low weight, and slow with MWF instead of everyday). getting into the gym and working hard is more than most people are doing on the reg. That in itself is an accomplishment. and by the time they start going enough to see the progress in the mirror (note NOT THE SCALE) that should be enough to keep them into it *unless they want to quit at this point which defeats the purpose

See above, she needs to find it on her own, and get committed on her own. like @ThunderCookies said somewhere in this thread.

Its true, we look at ourselves and say "why dont I look like her?" and constantly measure ourselves against the glimpse we see of someone at the gym or on IG. I would argue you guys do that too just less vocally or you more so turn it into motivation instead of pity.

sorry to dredge all this back up from a few pages back. but I felt it necessary to add some info and highlight what all y'all said. As seemingly, the only actively participating woman in this thread I felt the need to chime in.

She’s probably a 10/10. Theres a lot of 10’s out there but the average obese male will still find a flaw or something wrong with any woman cause #murica

Hold up, are we talking attractive on a scale of 1-10, or length? Either way, you’ve got me classified correctly.
