I’m not trying to hurt myself for numbers. Just trying to get a idea of what base I’m starting at.

The hip thrust is the weird part I’m trying to get used to. I’ve watched a ton of vids on it. Elbows in tight. Use hip to thrust. Push head forward/under log while lifting

I'd start with your 1rm at 185lb and train off that.

Elbows high while in your lap. Pull it into your chest and try to keep it against your chest when you clean it up.

That elbows up in lap was genius. Helps a good bit.

Take a second in this position to pause and get your breath. You want a big bracing breath and use it to clean and press it. You shouldn't be breathing once it gets up to your chest. At the top of the press release the breath then take another big breath as the log comes back to your chest, then do the next rep.

If you're trying to breathe with it on your chest you're gonna get unstable.

It's good to practice strict log pressing as well then add in leg drive later on other sets. So like one day would be strict work, then the next training day add in leg drive. Focus on keeping your upper back right and retracted through the press.

It's hard but you'll get it.

Lmao yep! That's my issue right now. On heavyweights the first clean and press is always super light-headed. Kinda scary

Hahahaha yea I almost dropped it from the top! Thanks for the advice again man. The hardest part now is trying to figure out when to practice strongman and when to just lift and how to fit it in on what lifting days. Like I did chest and triceps today before trying the log stuff.

You’re helping a ton for real!

Try practicing just the clean at like 105-110% 1RM and hold it on your chest for 10 seconds then drop. That will help you get more comfortable with the weight

Before I had a coach I would do a strongman lift or event at the beginning of each training day then my normal accessories were hypertrophy/bodybuilding lifts.

I got busy today and lost track of time while editing a video so it almost turned into a rest day but I went to the gym around 8:45.
1 mile on the treadmill, minimal shin splints so I think I’m starting to train my body to run properly on the treadmill, and then did the circuit.
Overhead press is still pushing me as well as bicep curls but the Lat pull down is starting to get easier at 105 lbs, and the seated row feels great at 90, going to try the next weight up next time.

Edit: i weighed the other day, down a few lbs but the main progress is inches.

For a 12 cup muffin pan, crack 12 eggs in a bowl and mix it all up then pour it evenly in the pan. Then add your toppings. Cheese, tomatoes, spinach, onions, whatever vegetables you want. I just do spinach but sometimes add tomatoes if I have them. I bake mine around 425 for 15-20min. Until they are nice and golden/brown

Definitely trying this, do you spray the muffin pan with any cooking spray or just pour the eggs in raw dog?
