Got some Olympic Rings going today. Trying to do 2 mile run, 100 burpees, and either 300 push ups or 150 pull ups per day. Will keep me sane until gyms open back up and i can start lifting again. image.jpg

It's tough to really put on mass at your age unless you're a genetic freak. It sounds like you aren't, though. So here is my best advice... and it's going to suck, but this lifestyle ISN"T EASY or it'd be called Travis's Mom, but that is beside the point. The point I am trying to make is be consistent with food. eat WHOLE foods, foods that are NUTRIENT RICH. Ground beef, steak, salmon, potatoes, rice, nuts, oatmeal, fruits, avocado, cook everything in butter/avocado oil, WHOLE EGGS. Good luck. Stay consistent...

    And always

    be well :)

what he said. There are no real shortcuts; especially since you have to learn to eat and how to lift. Study, pay attention don’t listen to bro’s or instagram but day in day out is what will get you there. Learn how to actually work the muscles you want to work and how to work hard....

    and stay off the drugs.

Also, once you get big enough you will notice only dudes really notice. Lol.

eat. Nutrient rich or not. Just eat. At this point, it isn’t going to matter what it is. Just ate? Go make a grilled cheese. Milk shakes. Ice cream. Just eat. And lift.

Well, just eating will get you there but with a fair amount of fat. I like lean bulking. It takes longer but looks better and is more consistent.

Do high protein, like 1-1.2g/lb daily, and don't go too crazy on the rest of the foods. You do need a lot though, so if the scale doesn't creep up every week or so then just eat more.

And quality foods do count, so prefer those when possible. But def eat more, even if not perfect.

    Lastly, some quality content. YouTube:
    - athlean-x
    - barbell medicine
    - Jeff nippard
    - starting strength

And the " stronger by science" website and similar, if you're a reader.

    I agree with this @_anthony_
My dad was in the military and a big lifter, his habits of stuffing his face were pushed on me later and all it got me was fat. And eventually all it did was get him fat too.

What you eat matters when it comes to your health. And I’ll be honest I don’t personally know or know of virtually any people who are lean (under 10%) year round that advocate you can eat what ever you want. They advocate for whole foods the majority of the time.

The very simple dietary rules I’ve come across that I think are critical is:
1g of protein per pound of body weight per day
0.7g of fats per pound of body weight per day.

fats and protein are essential nutrients. They are needed to survive. Carbs are unessential. So fats and proteins are minimums (get at least that much per day or more). Carbs are just as needed or as they work for you.

Stronger by Science has a great podcast that provides great information.

someone with his build just needs the calories. I was 6’0 like 130 in high school, I’m 6’1 180 now and my diet has always been pretty shit but I’ve always had visible abs. At my leanest I was eating chocolate chip cookies and ice cream every night.

@_anthony_ , go buy 2 tubs of Russian bear and drink a scoop of that in 30oz of whole milk every night. You’ll gain the weight

@_anthony_ Moral of the story is just eat. It doesn't matter what. You aren't going to magically be jacked and shredded. You'll have to work for it. But you weigh less than me and have about 4inches on me so unless you want to go through life being a beanpole and wondering what could've been, I suggest you stuff your face and when you feel sick, stuff it some more.

Once you start adding some size and strength, you can dial it in on what you should be eating to reach your goals, but right now WHAT isn't important, just HOW MUCH

Why don’t we encourage the kid to start smoking too. And stop wearing his seatbelt.
